Cricket West Indies (CWI) president, Ricky Skerritt, is adamant that the recent refusal by senior players to take part in the ongoing tour of Bangladesh and the subsequent results must be framed within the broader context of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The regional team was on the wrong side of a 3-0 mauling, at the hands of Bangladesh, in a lopsided series that showed a tremendous gulf in quality between the two teams.

“We have to deal with the reality that players are facing a tremendously stressful decision about their careers and whether they participate in cricket under risky situations; even though cricket West Indies and other boards are doing everything possible to minimize the risk,” Skerritt told the Mason and Guest radio show.

I wonder how many of those that refused to tour Banglasdesh would have accepted an offer to play T10 cricket in the Gulf???

I have no issues with people not wanting to travel in these times, but most travelled to New Zealand, so what changed? Maybe it's the amount they were being paid - didn't think it was worthwhile!!!!

If was a T20 hundred thousand US contract, there won't be no issues about corona at all, it won't even be mentioned.

Exactly but the point is, if the pay worth the risk they will go. Nothing different from what the players being asked. Not saying they know to play btw.

Do you really believe these lying, greedy, shitty dodo heads? It's all about the money. I don't regard them as West Indies players. They are all over the world playing t20 and t10 cricket. They are using covid as an excuse. Maybe they have never heard of what usually happen to people who use sickness to call off from work when they really are not sick. They better hope covid doesn't take revenge against them!
