HEADLINE: Simmons believes having more experienced players should make difference for Test series

West Indies coach Phil Simmons hopes the relative experience of the Test team, compared to the One Day International (ODI) unit, will make for a more competitive showing against Bangladesh when the series bowls off next week.

The ODI team, which was captained by Jason Mohammed, was the hardest hit, however, with at least eight players making their international team debut.  With more proven campaigners like bowlers Kemar Roach and Shannon Gabriel, and batsmen Kraigg Brathwaite and Jermaine Blackwood, the Test team should be in better shape, in terms of experience in any case.

“It’s a big difference, we may have one, maybe two debutants for this Test series, whereas we had 10 for the ODI series.  So, it’s a huge difference,” Simmons said.

Who prevented Simmons and Chief selector along with other selectors ..to select an experience side... instead selected Mohammad and was happy that a "cool head captain" would make the 4th string team a winnable one......

Hahahahahaha!!!

DE man is already hedging.

What are we doing with a coach like this and how is he going to instill any confidence in his charges?

.....................

Btw, guess the coach's batting average in test cricket?

Now, I am not saying that someone with such a stinking average cannot become a great coach but we all know right now he is not even an average international coach.

I want to know why there are two links, if you don't mind. You click "Full story" and it takes you to a page that has the same exact thing that is on this thread, except for the "Full Story" link that is now gone.

So why is there a Full Story link which does not serve any purpose that I can see? If you want the real full story you have to click the Sportmax link which can obviously be done right here on this thread.
