West Indies chief of selectors, Roger Harper, has revealed that the panel remains in the dark regarding the future of spinner Sunil Narine who remains unavailable for selection.

The 32-year-old Narine is widely regarded as one of the best spinners in the world but has not appeared for the West Indies since 2019.  In total, Narine has played 6 Test matches, where he claimed 21 wickets, 65 One Day Internationals, where he has claimed 92 wickets and 51 T20 Internationals where he has taken 52.

According to Harper, at this point, the bowler does not seem comfortable enough with his technique to return to international cricket.

“Sunil Narine has indicated to us that he is not yet ready for the international scene,” Harper told the Mason and Guest radio program.

Narine will just stay under the radar and make his money at t20 tournaments.

I would think so, nothing mysterious except people's expectations he will return.

Even in the IPL his utility is declining and may have to sit for Shakib

Anyone who thinks that Narine has ever seriously wanted to play for the WI or under present circumstances will want to do so (with all the physical and mental effort that would need) is living in a fools paradise.

Sunil Narine has apparently earned close to 14 million dollars (US) from his IPL career so far.

I'm guessing one can add a couple of million more (at least) based on his contracts in other T20 leagues.

That's $16M USD.

Play for the West Indies? What's the compensation for centrally contracted players?

Narine will come asking to play for WI - when he has no T20 contracts left... lol
