I am of the opinion Romario Shepherd has quite a bit of up side to him. He has the making of a good contributor to the white ball game. In the Super 50 he started off very well, however faded quite a bit at the tail end of the tournament.
He can bat, his bowling can be spot on at times. Saw him bowl three Yorkers in an over, which is difficult to do as it requires a lot of strength. Like Fabian Allen he needs a boost in his confidence and good handling to extract the best from him.

De man scored a ton and a 80+.. scored way more than the front line batsmen on tour yet some of them made the training squad and he didn't.

Shepherd scored those runs in the longer format.. Mosley and couple others played the same series and couldn't even buy a run.. yet they made the training squad.
What exactly Mindley do to make that 30 man squad?

Shepherd is garbage. Take a look at what T&T did to him. He was bowling hit me balls. Every time someone scores 15 runs people on here classify them as batsmen or allrounders. Stop the nonsense.

In that game he was destroyed. The two games prior saw a beginning of the erosion of his confidence. Writing Shepherd off will be a mistake. In the early years of Andre Russel’s career he struggled on his regional team. His confidence was shot playing on a very talented but dysfunctional team.

I’m saying The players selected appear to be based on the long form of the game for the most part.
Few of them are “new to the scene”
If they were preparing a LO team, then Shepherd and others would/should be in the mix.

After one bad match a player is now garbage.. when couple matches prior to that in NZ conditions the same player had scores of a 100+ and 80+ in back to back matches 4 day matches..
Pollard had a 100+ bad ODIs and they made him captain.. Kraigg had 3+ years of failing with the bat and is now captain..
Nobody calling for him in the test squad but the performances he had in NZ conditions earned him a spot in that training squad ahead of plenty..

Will someone please remind me when Shepherd was good. Shepherd is not a first class bowler or batsman. Yes, he has 2 scores in New Zealand, so does Jerome Taylor, who scores his in test. Are you saying Taylor was a batsman also.
