St Vincent's orange-zone residents return home
Searchlight newspaper, SVG, for Newsday
While some residents of the orange zone in North Leeward, St Vincent, have begun moving back into their houses, the battle with the volcanic ash will stretch on.The ash was emitted from the island's La Soufriere volcano, which began erupting on April 9 after being dormant since 1979.The main road to the area is much clearer that it was last month, and cars can now pass each other without raising great clouds of dust that need to settle before either could move. Ash still lies on the ground, but the trees and vegetation are green once more.
However, some driveways and areas off the beaten path in the northwestern village of Troumaca still have a thick layer of the formidable substance.
Nonetheless, given the green light by the authorities, residents are starting to return to the area and are cleaning up.

Great news
The Orange Zone , is the next Zone from
the Red Zone . I sincerely hope that
The erution Phase of La Soufriere has
gone .
If the volcano erupts during the rainy
season , that will be devastating , because , what La Soufriere emits will
travel down the mountain valleys with Ashes & rain to form LAHARS ,which are
are deadly to anything in its path .
The Volcanologists believe that even when it gets to the Sea , it can be devastating to any thing in its path even in the Sea .
The Lahars , destroyed a Beach that was called Richmond Beach , when the Lahars went down from the Volcano via the Richmond River to the Sea .
