Kerber out!
In reply to birdseye
Done and dusted in the tiebreaker -Game, set and match Naomi
In reply to mikesiva
Kerber done?
See it there- just talk wid di mask
Pablo Andúja just sent Thiem home in five.
This is a bigger upset than Kerber.
In reply to Chrissy
Yep!
Thiem was supposed to be the successor to Nadal.
In reply to Chrissy
You know she got fined $15,000 ...
The statement also said that Osaka has been advised that should she continue to ignore her media obligations during the tournament, she would be exposing herself to possible further Code of Conduct infringement consequences.
Citing the rule book, the statement notes that tougher sanctions from repeat violations could include default from the tournament and the trigger of a major offense investigation that could lead to more substantial fines and future Grand Slam suspensions.
Here
In reply to Kay
That was expected
In reply to mikesiva
Thiem is way too intense for this sport
In reply to Chrissy
Dimitrov retired injured.
In reply to Chrissy
Kerber is done period. She's but a shadow of her former self.
In reply to Casper
Kerber was on an extended high..she was never a really good player..she is where she is supposed to be..
Fernandes ahead after first set ...
In reply to Kay
Easy win 6-2; 6-1
Zverev evens things up - on to the 5th set.
Tsitsipas' match about to start - same with Keys
In reply to Chrissy
U shudda hear de media scrambling to apologize for some F bombs dropped by de footballers in dere interviews after de Championship Playoffs and de Champions League Final, over de weekend.
In reply to Maispwi
ROFL - I can understand why she doesn't want to deal wid dem but she better read dat contract.
Meanwhile di Pole, Iga Swiatek just served a bagel ro her opponent.
She can play
Byebye Cornet
Oops Juvan breaks back.
Iga wins in 2. Birthday win
Naomi should go to each interview but if dem ask she any foolishness she should say "next question please".
In reply to culpepperboy
That simple - do you remember when one of di eediot media fols asked Serena what she had to say about Trump saying Mawgapova had lovely shoulders not like hers?
In reply to Chrissy
Huh?
In reply to Chrissy
I believe shes Polish
In reply to imusic
She is - realized after
Now is this the Fed's last French Open match?
In reply to Chrissy
Could very well be
In reply to imusic
Not by the look of things - just broke in the 3rd. Will win this in three
In reply to Chrissy
Federer was back to his glorious best in that match!
The French is just a warm up for Wimbledon, where he has a better chance.
In reply to Chrissy
Not today
Even at 40, still nobody else Id rather watch play tennis than him.
In reply to mikesiva
Well he has beaten dat one eight times now. Still the Fed looks good.
In reply to Chrissy
Ostapenko has fallen a long way. Unseeded and beaten by Kenin in the first round.
Fans begging players for towels in these coronavirus times.
Muguruza crushed!
In reply to imusic
Wait a few more rounds when he meets tougher opponents
Ms Williams is struggling here to close out 1st set.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Serena eventually wins in straight sets.
In reply to mikesiva
Yup. Good for her
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Monfils advanced, but Felix AA went out.
In reply to mikesiva

Di five set king prevails - good win Kei Nishikori
In reply to Chrissy
Massive win against the Russian.
Keys also wins her third round match.
Kvitova withdraws?
In reply to Tryangle
A press conference claims another casualty.
Serena had to work hard to get past another Romanian.
Danielle Collins next.
In reply to mikesivaGwan Serena!
In reply to mikesiva
Maybe Naomi was right to avoid them!
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Indeed!
Barty retired after struggling with a leg injury.
Stephens thrashed Pliskova in straight sets!
Barty withdrew - that injury again.
Top three gawn - Halep didn't play, Naomi withdrew and now Ash
In reply to Chrissy
Gauff wins her second round match.
The women's draw is wide open.
Federer beat Cilic over four sets in a hard fought encounter.
In reply to Chrissy
This tournament looks like Serena's tournament to win.
No Halep no Naomi, no Barty....Azarenka has to get past Sabalenka (5).
Technically the defending Champion Iga Swiatek ( is the one to beat although Serena (7) outranks her.
Kenin(4) is the highest ranking left but none of those top ten ranks has multiple Grand Slams.
Happy Birthday Rafa!
In reply to analyst-kid
Serena is the GOAT but she has become the biggest choker in the last two and a half years..it sad to watch..If the queen faced Serena in the finals she'd probably win..
Serena needs to get out of Serena's head..
In reply to mikesiva
unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to watch many of the last couple of major tournaments but de Fed may make me find the time..
In reply to hotarobin
Azarenka beat Keys at two and two.
In reply to mikesiva
they both have a similar game but Keys is not mentally ready imo..
In reply to analyst-kid
Serena first has to get past a difficult opponent in Collins.
Rankings are deceptively unimportant in this coronavirus era.
Serena takes the first set at four.
In reply to hotarobin
I agree.
I have not seen anybody beating Serena in the last year...what I have seen Serena choking and choking again.
In reply to mikesiva
Serena up one set 6-4 and now crawl from 1-4 down in the Second set to level 4-4
Collins has to maintain her composure cause Serena with momentum and rhythm tends to run away and leave you at 4 from here.
Serena has broken Collins and leads 5-4.
Sereana to serve for the win and into the fourth round to meet yet another unseeded player...will she choke from here?
Mad dem Serena - into the last 16
All OVER ...Serena wins 6-4 to meet Ranked 21 Rybakina from Russia...my bad ..she is ranked,

//
In reply to analyst-kid
it's the finals she chokes in but that win over Collins sounds like it was a good one..
In reply to Ewart
Stephens knocked out another seed to reach the fourth round.
In reply to hotarobin
Serenas serve is her greatest weapon. When her serve is on, she can compete with and beat any player.
At the AO she matched Sabalenka power to power and won, overpowered Halep....but when she met Osaka, another powerful server, her own serve deserted her, she couldnt even hold serve and was beaten easily.
Without her serve she could still beat the lesser players but not the best players with their own power serves.
Good to see Stevens winning again, I thought she had lost interest in the game. It is the first time she has beaten two top twenty players in two years.
In reply to analyst-kid
still it's all in her head.. if I recalled correctly Serena beat Osaka soundly in a tournament leading up to the last major she lost to her in..
Listen that #24 clouds her judgment and confidence the closer it gets..she needs to talk to a shrink to help her put it into perspective..
Unlike the case with Federer where he is clearly past his best and others have stepped up, Serena has just fallen off and has developed chronic brain fog but neither Osaka nor Halep nor none o dem women can ever match up to a 95% Serena in my opinion..
In reply to hotarobin
But that is the issue, Serena rarely get up to her 95%.
In reply to dayne
...but that's kinda what I said no?
Svitolina is the latest seeded casualty..and it was apparently a real beat down...6-2, 6-2..against Krejcikova from the Czech Republic..
In reply to hotarobin
I watched it - a serious beat down
In reply to dayne
Stephens struggles in 2020 are understandable. She lost two grandparents to coronavirus, and found it hard to stay motivated.
Ymer goes out.
Swiatek the defending champion motors on.
In reply to mikesiva
Swiatek seems to a "Nadal" of sorts..
In reply to hotarobin
Brady injured. Gauff into Round Four.
In reply to mikesiva
Fed under some pressure.. Koepfer toe to toe with him in this match thus far..Fed often loses these types of encounters..
In reply to hotarobin
He may still win this but will be be able to handle next week
In reply to hotarobin
The old man is still just so beautiful to watch on a tennis court, with his ballet-like moves.
I think he's going to pull this one out. I am solooking forward to him going up against the Djoker
In reply to Casper
well he won the 3rd and was ahead in 4th but got broken back..I would like him to win but Fed usually loses these kind of matches so I don't have high expectations..
In reply to Chrissy
he doesn't want to see Joka and no one wants to see Nadal..but it will get infinitely harder for Fed should he get past this challenge..
In reply to hotarobin
He did it. His next hurdle will be much harder with the much improved Berrettini.
In reply to Casper
Good win but whats left in the tank?
We shall see
In reply to hotarobin
BTW, do think after playing such a long match for (3hr and 35min) followed by such a long interview by Marion Bartoli, that any tennis player should be expected to go and submit himself to a boring press interview at two o'clock in the morning?
If I were Roger, I would go and get a quick shower and slip through a side-door.
In reply to Casper
In reply to Casper
My feelings exactly!

In reply to Chrissy
Azarenka out!
In reply to mikesiva
Yep
Rooting for lime green for women and men dis year
In reply to Chrissy
Tsitsipas through easily.
That was some clinic by Medvedev ....
Come on Serena - sort out di serve
In reply to Chrissy
6-3!
Dis Done.
It's painful to watch Serena lose like this.
Her legacy is well set. It is awful to hear the commies mocking her chase to match Court.
Go off into the sunset Serena. You made your fans proud, you transformed the game. Take a bow.
WE LOVE YOU!
Please do a Fed and go home now ....
In reply to nitro
Ditto
I think Serena's passion for the game is still there (much like Venus) so I don't expect her to call it a day anytime soon.
In reply to Tryangle
I think Serena's passion for the game is still there (much like Venus) so I don't expect her to call it a day anytime soon.
Like Muhammad Ali???
In reply to Tryangle
With due respect i think it's about the record slams and it is what is causing the melt down.
By the way, her opponent today did not play any high level of tennis to faze even an aging Serena. She is beating herself now ...
it's called the cycle of life..I tried racing my son in a 100m sprint and nearly died..only a few years ago I could beat the crap outta him..and I secretly believe that I can but maybe in another life..
Serena and Fed will play until they can't anymore, who knows maybe they will surprise us once more but it's unlikely..
they left a good legacy behind..
Sorry my all time favourite - the young ones are faster than you. This one wasn't born when you reached tyour first French semi-final.
You will remain the greatest of all time - we all know that the crap about open era never came up before a person of African origin beat them all.
In reply to hotarobin
Correct
In reply to Kay
Why would someone beat themself...especially such a great champion.?
In reply to StumpCam
Can you imagine Trevor Berbick had defeating Ali on his resume?
Sometimes the greats just can't see the right time to walk away.
In reply to Chrissy
..which is why it would be so rewarding for her to get the 24th..beat them even when they change the rules..
In reply to hotarobin
Perhaps these greats see a Pete Sampras-like run still in them. All but written-off, one surge to glory yet again?
In reply to hotarobin
I don't give a damn. I am one of those folks who never needed validation from people who hate me and my race. I know great when I see it and the stats are on my side. Serena is the greatest of all time. QED!
In reply to hotarobin
A familiar tame capitulation by Stephens.
In reply to mikesiva
Yep but Coco is looking awesome 6-3, 4-1
Game, set and math Coco 6-3, 6-1 in 53 minutes
In reply to mikesiva
I have no time for Stephens and no time for Monfools..they are the picture of untapped potential..I am NOT surprised..
In reply to Chrissy
nice win for Coco..
In reply to hotarobin
Indeed.
Djoka in trouble - down two sets
Dis Musetti kid turned 19 on March 3 - he can play. He is the youngest player in the Top 100.
Long way to go
Djoka wins the 3rd 6-1
And is about to win the 4th
In reply to Chrissy
Lawd havest mercy... Djoker in beast mode
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
LOL - good come back but it's #1 v #94. The kid can play - he'll be back
In reply to Chrissy
You better start worrying about the next Italian kid who is waiting to kick Rafa's butt....lol
These Italian youngsters are gunning, past the next gen, for the top 3.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
7-5 Rafa
7-5; 6-3 Rafa
These Italian youngsters are gunning, past the next gen, for the top 3.

In reply to Ewart
A Greek in each semi
Coco's nerves getting di better of her - she should have won that 1st set. Hope she can come back but sh looks green.
In reply to Chrissy
Krejcikova had more nerves than Gauff but the latters errors were her undoing. That was a great steal by Krejcikova. Now, with her head out front she can be more relaxed and will be more difficult to beat.
However, Coco is a great fighter and if she can keep her errors down and serve better, she can even up the match.
Coco, breaking rackets doesnt win matches. The set will be over soon and in record time.
In reply to Casper
As Ihave said many times before, Coco's parents should never have thrown her into pro tennis so young.
In reply to Casper
Not bad for a 17 year old. She reached a GS quarter-final. But she needs to be managed carefully. It can be hard on a player so young.
That serve needs work.
But her speed around the court is an asset.
It's hard to look beyond Swiatek for a second consecutive French title.
In reply to mikesiva
That lil Greek is a good player - we'll see -
In reply to Chrissy
Maybe your expectations are too high! Coco has exceeded expectations ..doesnt that justify her parents decision???
Its not like she has been knocked out of the first round!
In reply to StumpCam
I worry about injuries and the psychological part .
Sakkari takes di 1st set
In reply to Chrissy
Sakkari is built like a man!
In reply to StumpCam
She clearly exercises with weights. She looks quite female - gets the early break
Swiatek leaves the court for a medical time out
In reply to StumpCam
Sakkari reminds me of Mauresmo.
Swiatek out!
Who else can I jinx?
Game, set and match Maria Sakkari in 2
Now go mind yuh own business and leff Naomi in peace Iga
1st set to Rafa 6-3

In reply to culpepperboy

Down goes Djoka - bad fall dat
In reply to Chrissy

In reply to Chrissy
The players in the first semi playing for the right to lose to the winner of the second set.
In reply to mikesiva
explain that statement bro..
Will Psycho man rout Zverev or will the German stage a come back?
In reply to mikesiva
Zverev fighting back here - headinf for a 5th set
Let's go Zverev ....
In reply to Chrissy
yep..Zverev has a good come back record but Tsitsipas is ahead on the head-to-head I believe..
Stef melting down here
In reply to hotarobin
Stef's serve has finally picked up - -great cross court for deuce
Tsitsipas gets the break
4-1 Tsitsipas
Zverev to serve
Finished with an Ace - well done Tsitsipas
In reply to Chrissy
Tell Nadal to watch out for Tsitsipas
In reply to hotarobin
The Next Generation have proved incapable of breaking the Nadal - Djokovic duopoly to date.
In reply to mikesiva
I could happen this year
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Well Tsitsipas is due but you can't blow two sets after such a good lead
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
First set to Rafa
In reply to Chrissy
Djoker barely avoided another 1st set bagel
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Go Rafa - finish off dis set
Tiebreaker
Djoka takes set 3
Let's go Rafa!
Tafa breaks to start the 4th
In reply to Chrissy
Chrissy, darling, I am having "bad feelings".
That would go down as the biggest comeback, given the quality of combatants.
A Rafa fan has to have a steel stomach for the next one or two sets.
Keeping hope alive.
In reply to Chrissy
De cricket might finish before this match.
I want this go all the way and end on a tie break going up to 699 deuces..
meanwhile, my psycho boy probably took his ice bath and waiting for the sorry fellow to drag into the finals..
In reply to hotarobin
Djoka breaks back - Leh we go Rafa
In reply to hotarobin
I think Djoker is going to win this in four.
I hate to (and it hurts to) have said that but I think he has Rafa's number in this match.
The King will be dethroned in his own palace.
In reply to culpepperboy
ya right at the rate Windies going...thank God for alternative sports to cricket..
In reply to Casper
it sure is looking that way eh?
Divine intervention is required. Rafa fans bring all your cosmic powers to the task.
The end of the reign is near.
In reply to Casper
My player lost - ah well. Go Stef!
In reply to Casper
listen Nadal just earned $453,940.. that should be enough to sober you up from the loss..
honestly though, I wouldn't have called that one..Nadal normally owns Joka on a clay court..Nadal must be injured..
In reply to Chrissy
Something wrong! Rafa lost West Indies getting beat...
In reply to Chrissy
In reply to hotarobin
Stfu
It was great while it lasted. Thanks for the memories, Rafa.
All good things must come to an end. It's a fact of life.
At 36 next year, I don't think Nadal will be able to win another Roland Garros. They are too many miles on that body.
In the 2nd. set I looked at Nadal's face and I had never seen it looked so worn. The man was being pushed to his limits. He tried, but at that moment, I lost the confidence he could do it. I even put the match on record mode to go outside and do some gardening, but like a fly to honey, I was drawn to see it to the bitter end. So, I am disappointed but not surprised by the result.
In reply to Casper
I haven't watched a single match but I imagine that Nadal had that sheepish look on his face when he knows that he is going down..must have been strange for him..
anyways I backing the underdog Tsitsipas..I always back the underdog but the matchups are in Joka's favor I believe..
Barbora Krencikova wins - tres ordinary final
Congrats Barbora. Good story.
In reply to nitro
Yep good story for the aspiring young women players who also have big dreams.
In reply to Chrissy
...like yesterday's men's semifinal ent?
ok I just watched the highlights of both semis..
Joka played some of the best tennis I have ever seen, to be honest..I am no fan of either Joka or Nadal but that was incredible tennis especially by Joka to dethrone the king of clay..
in contrast, the other semi was lackluster at best..the level of tennis was just not comparable..
If Tsisipas gets a set off Joka or greater still beats Joka to take the title I would be pleasantly surprised..I just don't see that happening..
If Joka wins the title he has a very legitimate claim on the GOAT title which I am not eager to admit but it would be reality..
Krejcikova & Siniakova won the doubles
With the doubles win
Djoka takes a fall - lucky not to hit his head with the post
Tsitsipas takes the 1st set and breaks for the 1st game of the 2nd.
Double break fi Tsitsipas
2-0 Tsitsipas
Happy hour done .... strictly business now!!!
In reply to Kay
2-1 Tsitsipas
Go Stef!
You got to pay for dem drinks now ...
In reply to Kay
Stef dropped di level man
Good come back from Djoka. Still don't like him.
Tsitsipas will win slams
Sisipas down and out ... the king prevails.
In reply to Chrissy
Is there anyone greater? Universe Boss of tennis
In reply to Chrissy This was a great match

"Universe Boss" connotes/conjures images of mafia in my mind. I am trying to erase that image.
In reply to Courtesy
Boss of the zodiac, Novak
