Which is worse or are they equally bad

Hety's straightened hair or di female athletes' weave hair?

Emancipation has no meaning for these self-hating people.

The bleaching I accept is self hate but the hair thing I think is just this generation expressing themselves that ole folks cannot understand

lol

What is no joke to me is seeing these grown ass men in public with their pants at their knnes showing their ugly rass draws.

NOTHING, NOthing whatsoever to do with this generation. Do you know that one Marcus Mosiah Garvey refused to run ads for men hair straighteners in his newspaper up in Harlem?

What about the tattoos?

And the body piercing? I swear that I saw a WI cricketer sporting (actually 'flashing') a navel ornament.

I am against my daughters doing either. I hope they grow up appreciating their god given hair

What if they go dread-locks?

Chrissy 2021-08-01 20:06:25

In reply to Drapsey

Dat is natural hair - I am amazed that the Jamaican establishment ismore concerned about dreadlocks than they are about weave hair or processed hair.

There is no attempt to abandon mental slavery

Amen, shocked that children with dreadlocks in school is a '20's convo. Thought that was resolved in the 60's

I would hope they don't come out looking anything close to the UB.

This is a part of the legacy of the crime of cultural genocide of slavery. The brainwashing process to hate who you are.And to aspire to be the mirror image of our white colonial oppressors. But this brainwashing will disappear in time.

It is a problem indeed. All around the world I see this trend of skin lightening and these Afro women with almost straight hair.

The pressure to conform is enormous and institutionalize.

More than a few employers and schools reject natural hair

Brerzerk 2021-08-02 14:44:50

They should listen Ras Karby's discrimination. To think that's a 70's recording

I don’t know to be honest
Isn’t the epitome of freedom, the free choice to do whatever you want with your hair? Or marry in or out your race?

How do we separate the people who deny who they are, from the ones who are comfortable and just want to try something new because the world has so much diverse opportunity?

Hetty's hair didn't cross my mind, but the horse and pony show always make me cringe, totally agree with your position.

I stay quiet because every so often someone I am associating with might do it, and it's awkward.

Like, a friend or friend wife or coworker, yuh know how?
