As the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup draws ever closer, some observers are still in disbelief at the squad Cricket West Indies selectors have chosen to defend the title the West Indies won in 2016.
Among them is Sir Vivian Richards, a man considered by many to be the greatest batsman of all time and one of the most destructive.
Richards, who played on the West Indies teams that won the Prudential World Cup in 1975 and 1979, said he still cannot believe that former West Indies captain Jason Holder, was not among the 15-man squad named for the world cup.

Yes Sir Viv, I understand your concern and I also agree with you that we are seriously blessed with talented individuals like the calibre of Jason Holder and unfortunately for Jason Holder, his performances in the recently concluded CPL was below par with a highest score of 34 runs, was very expensive with the ball and his team Barbados was the worse team. So Jason didn't help himself.

viv is right......but where was VIV when Pollard and Bravo were on the reserves for the 2019 tournament and the WI lost 6 out of 9 games with the likes of RTN and Nurse

Selective amnesia.
But Viv is worng, Jason was the least impactful all-rounder in CPL.
Look, he has to compete with Russell, Bravo, Pollard for a spot, that's why it was so difficult to find that all-rounder spot for him.
Who should have been left off for Jason?

How often has Pollard or Russell bowled four overs for any T20 team?
Teams Jason plays for comes last. We do not need.that added pressure.

I felt maybe it could have been a misprint not hearing right at that particular time, Sir Vivian told the Antigua Observer.
We may have our issues with Jason but we can never doubt the individuals ability and his talent
