Judging by the comments of some empty heads in our region and in the diaspora, it appears they simply don't want us to defend out title.
Whether iT is Polly and Gayle bashing, the crying for Jason and the other typical insular and racists among us, each day its another load of hogwash thrown at the team.
We are days away and our players have to face this barrage from the media and other fans in social media.
I always maintain, a WI fan, who is sincere and true to him/her self will quit the criticism after making his point, even when he disagrees with the selection, and then rally around the team.
But some "fans" will have none of it, they call our top spinner a pelter because he had a fantastic match, they call Polly a bully because he wants to harden our players for the int. circuit, they criticize Bravo not for his CRICKET, but for his celebrations etc etc.
Meanwhile, those same eeditos worship foreign "stars" like Kohli- he has a big following in the region by the Guyanese "Indos" who seem to view him as their own while they throw insults at Polly and Bravo.
It is massive shame and a disgrace that our captain has to beg for support.Link Text
Is there any other int. captain begging his country to back the team mere days before the biggest global tournament in the world?

YOU GET THE FEELING -SOME DON'T WANT US TO WIN
In reply to Emir
Well we know for certain that Inhindsight doesnt want the team to have any success.
Hes not the only one. Just the only one that publicly declared it.
In reply to Emir
insularity is the reason.

you remember the time when you bashed Darren Sammy's team?
credit to you -you didn't hide it

Pollard and co need to take this as motivation. Although I do feel Gayle was disrespectful to Curtly......and he has a reputation for being disrespectful. Curtly only said whatis obvious, on current form, gayle is NOT and automatic pick. He's overreacting in the same way he Overreacted to the Sarwan situation
WE will make the playoffs.....

Why Polly begging for support? He picked his team. Like he having second thoughts?
In reply to googley
You know better than that, a muddie did ....

Yes, but also Racism- these two combined are not mutually exclusive, but taken together, it is toxic.
Our players deserve better.
In reply to Emir
"Our" only matters when is your player eh
In reply to doosra
All the West Indians players are "mine players."
I was really hoping you would grow out of your insular mindset all these years, but my hope has now been diminished

Pollard and Bravo worship Kohli and all dem Hindians in Hindia who paying them big time money..
You HATE Indians ... let me rephrase that ... you dislike any person who is not your color.. I do not know what color you are... maybe SPECKLED..
You must be living under a rock. Sports are universal and fans DO NOT ALWAYS SUPPORT A HOME TEAM ...
Have a nice night ... even you deserve one

Although I agree with Polly to a certain extent and the team is already pick and we should all rally around them!!!
But the fact that you're a jackass the equivalent of your logic is that we should interpret Sharia law the same way terrorists do!!! Or WI cricket should be governed like the Taliban without scrutiny or freedom of speech!!!

Dumbo, Polly and Bravo, like the other stars is the reason the IPL make money, not the other way around.

Does "us" include "Guyanese Indo"?
In reply to Norm
No, I have explained the term "Indo" many times before, but I will again one last time.
The term "Indo" as used in our region, is not a reference to people who trace their ancestry from modern day India or the sub continent.
It is a racist term design by by a few racists emanating from Guyana and exported to Trinidad, who view themselves as superior in culture and mores to people in the Caribbean whose ancestry is from Africa.
"Indos are racist against Afros in Guyana but are quite okay to accept inferiority from whites and from Brahmins in India.
This group has been successful in getting many unsuspecting people to refer to themselves as "Indos" without knowing their full agenda
So you are an "Indo" if you believe in their philosophy but you are not an "Indo" by merely having your ancestry from India.

Polly really vex because people did not like his selection of players. A blind person could see that this was a Polly and Simmons team make up. Harper and Co just rubber stamped it. Most fans on this board already stated that at the end of the day they will support the playing team, regardless of the moronic selection. So he really not vex because of the support...he vex cause people disagree with his choices.
no argument here, especially the first sentence!
In reply to Emir
Thanks for the explanation.
Because west indies going to the wc with to many dead beat unfit overrated guys, and when folks speak the truth people get vex and start to curse .
I learn today for the first time that Koli paying Bravs and Polly
And Bravs and Polly worship Koli and Indians in general
Cant beat this MB for sheer concentration of dross
Is this not always the case with sports? Despite being a game of skill, the players morale is always affected by industry politics and fans opinions.

Our expectations are low because for the last 25 years years West Indies have churned out nothing but rubbish results. The loss to Australia at home 2/1 in 1995.And matters have got worse every since then in all formats except the odd good result in 20/20 joke cricket. That explains it...we are now 7th or 8th in the world in test rankings.Fed up.

There is a difference between wanting them to fail and calling things as one sees it..
I am sure that most "want" them to win but reality tells them otherwise..I for one am in this category..
