Wonder what Holding, Redz, Viv and co would have said. They are totally silent now. Insularity is the biggest affliction of WI cricket

Imagine if Lara had behaved like Gayle
In reply to Jumpstart
He didn't and they are still critics of Lara.
In reply to sgtdjones
They not saying a peep now. I dunno how dem fellasdoes get published still when it is so clear that they are not objective
In reply to Jumpstart
Why Viv didn't explain , he threw Lara's equipment out of the dressing room and used him as a water boy.
Dam big ego....
In reply to sgtdjones
Viv is a great batsman........but he's an overagressive egomaniac. Only reason he never lost a series was because he ingerited a great team and he had a bad temper
As well as he might be (Viv) but he did nothing different than what other seniors did while 'blooding' young 'uns back in the day. You all heard what Kalli said about Sir Lancelot 'mannersing' him. Lara pointed out that while driving Viv around and kept asking him when he'd get picked Viv told him soon but make sure he made full use of it when it came. While Gayle's behavior may be insufferable unlike Lara most of it came as a senior and not a newbie who walked out in England. Bad behavior from one does not sanitize that of another.
tts bawlin bout insularity is about the most ridiculous thing in wi cricket
In reply to Jumpstart
Who has a bigger ego than the self proclaimed Universe boss?
People referred to Viv as the master blaster, he didn't christen himself that.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Dude, Viv said in a documentary( Empire of Cricket) that nobody was better than him. He is the pioneer of that kind of narcissism in WI cricket
In reply to Jumpstart
Why do you always have to drag Viv into every argument.
Gayle being a JACKASS is just that. I.E Gayle being a jackass. Why you have to bring Lara and Viv and then compare who did what.
PHEW
Didn't Ramdin addressed Viv after that knock, both players and ex players need to be more measured in comments about each other!

100% dr Dukes

Talk na
You would never hear white players and ex players being critical of each other, on another level Ambrose should let the selectors do their job.
Name me 11 automatic picks in that squad. Still behaviour was not called for.

Taking a break from tweeting about Love Island the UK version, better than the domestic drivel according to well-placed sources Warne has gone with a four-pronged attack of James Pattinson, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood.
Speaking ahead of the second cricket Test starting on Friday, Warne said it was vital for Starc to deliver in Perth.
'I don't believe Mitchell Starc has found his rhythm yet at all,' Warne said in his Daily Telegraph column.

I don't know the context but if Ambie was asked if he thought Gayle belonged in the starting XI and gave that answer its not a big deal. Ideally both Gayle n Ambrose should've left those outside the off-stump
In reply to Brerzerk
that is also how I view it, guys need to learn to talk without saying anything.
GARBAGE!!!
Who is Chris Gayle that anyone-journalist, fan or more so, a former great servant of West Indies cricket- should have to tip-toe around giving a fair assessment of his diminishing ability at this stage, the twilight of his career?
In reply to jacksprat
The Universe Boss.
if picked, he will get a chance to boss around with his bat. Good luck to him but big men should not be so thin skinned about legitimate criticism. Only despots behave like that.
In reply to VoopsandOut
The descriptive term is more in line with. Universe Narcissist Bore....
In reply to NYCGURU
yuh actually calling Chump 'very bad' and 'disgraceful' names like no one has ever heard before names here
Is Gayle selection base on performance of the last couple years, or is it base on his experience/Friendship?
Gayle has past his sell by date, plain and simple.
In reply to openning
Don't you have some ballroom dancing to do....???
Instead of posting crap.
In reply to sgtdjones
You seem to believe that Gayle's experience is good enough for him to be selected, even if his stats in the last couple years shows, his batting performance is below par, his fielding is questionable and he cannot run quick singles.

In reply to camos
What did Viv do to Ramdin for him to walk around with a 8 1/2 X 11 inches of a paper note in his pocket for months?
In reply to sgtdjones
Jackass, Vivian Richards was a leader of men.
Have a look at their win/loss record and then come back to me.
Vi has earned the right to speak about players, I don't think Lara relationship during his time is the same.
In reply to openning
Dipstick ...if a leader of men does that to me ..I would punch his lights out .....
To do such shows poor leadership.
This is one of the reasons Dinas quit.....owing to lack of leadership.
Berate UB after the WC if he is a failure ....to do it before shows stupidity.
In reply to TheTrail
Do you have proof that Ramdin did what you posted .....or are you like others here that spew BS without proof ?.
When challenged they run. The price of success is to bear the criticism of envy, how sad.

Viv inherited the best team on earth. Many of the players who played under him said they felt very intimidated by him and his temper.
Viv ignored the fact that the WICB had picked a side, without their three best players( Gayle, Jerome Taylor and DJ Bravo) and was led by a man who could not make the team except as cappo in Darren Sammy. Then wrote a shameless article concentrating on Kirk Edwards' struggles and Ramdin. Viv looked for that.
Silence is never good in team sports from what Ive seen so far. I wonder how this is going to affect my outright bet. I guess I placed them too early this time.
