Name may not ring a bell.But this man Russian opposition politician was poisoned and is being persecuted by the horrendous brutal authoritarian Russian dictatorship.He has just won the European Parliament's annual human rights prize for his efforts to challenge the corrupt status quo in Russia.He was first poisoned and had to be airlifted to Germany to save his life.On his return to Russia he was imprisoned on trumped up charges.Prize was well deserved.Sadly we still live in a world where authoritarian bullying regimes are locking people up for their political views.Peoples of the Caribbean hopefully will never know the horrors of dictatorships.But we must applaud those who stand up to dictatorships.
