UB40 former member Astro dies

British vocalist and former member of UB40 Terence Wilson, better known by his stage name Astro, has died aged 64.

Astro, who performed in the reggae pop band for more than 30 years, died after a short illness, his current band confirmed.

RIP.Their Labor of Love album was one of the first reggae albums I got. Given to me by an Italian couple.

One my favorite reggae groups!
Saw them and Shaggy in Rhode Island 2 years ago !

RIP Astro. Your group played a major role to encourage air play for reggae music when reggae was still regarded as underground music. Believe they were even the first reggae band to tour the USSR. They should claim that they helped to bring about the decline of the Soviet Union rather than leaving it up to Ronald Regan's ultra right fascists that he did. lol lol big grin
