Launched

Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Republic Bank Group have successfully completed the first trial edition of “5 for Fun” – a new and exciting cricket format designed to grow interest and participation in cricket for primary school aged children. Republic Bank and CWI partnered to create and trial this unique 5-over, 5-player format of the game that sees CWI leveraging their extensive coaching and school’s development infrastructure and Republic Bank’s group-wide “Power to Make a Difference” programme.

Its worse dan dat. U now have to get de children to unlearn all dat cowlashing dat dey got pleasure from. Ah doh envy de coaches.

Dere must be other ways such as doubling the runs for proper tecnique or hitting the ball thru certain areas dat dey can use in a longer version dat will get de attention of Primary School kids.

The bottom line is dat until WI start winning consistently again, interest will remain low

Depending on the age groups you're working with you have to temper what you hope to see ('proper shots', proper bowling form) against letting the kids do what comes natural. I don't think children watch as much cricket as they used to (either live or on TV) so you want to ensure they don't see it as a task.

But yes, innovation is key.
