Blueprint: Developing Fastbowlers

LBW375 2021-11-11 12:25:58

These trials are part of a Player Development Program that Lahore Qalandars launched in 2016, holding trials from Rawalpindi all the way down to south Punjab. The program has welcomed boys of all ages and from all backgrounds. Some have turned up barefoot and been given shoes. Others have turned up in shalwar kameez and still managed to get a chance to do what they do. Everyone has had a fair chance to bat and bowl with scouts whittling down attendees each day.

Great idea, but given our feeder system via clubs, schools and old boy network, this will get resistance

We all know what needs to be done.

So many obstacles - clubs, old boys, elites. So many distractions. 2 years of intense hard work to properly develop, would our young cricketers survive this kind of program?

Where overseas do we send them ? Affordable ?

Too many people do not believe that anything can be done. They therefore have no imagination, no drive or desire to accomplish anything. All they do is say there is nothing that can be done.Is it because they have done little with their lives? If you live in the Caribbean, are you a member of a cricket club or if you no longer live in the Caribbean were you ever a member of a cricket club? Either way you can contribute to that club, especially to a youth development fund.
You can also contribute to your high school to help develop their cricket team.
All many do is bellyache about no systems in place etc.etc.
Get off your A$$ and do something!!!!!!!

What amazes me is that both India and Pakistan are finding fast bowlers who are clocking up to 94 mph quite often,Pakistan Haris Rauf regularly clocks 94 and another from India got 95,We in the Caribbean must have more fit young men to the square mile than any country, still we cyah find a Holding,Croft,Bishop,Roberts or a Patterson. surprised

we need to go back to gully cricket, the bowler starting his run from the valley.
