That's not the Burnham we know and love.

That's typical CIA misinformation to discredit a true visionary.

The man stood against apartheid. Carifesta was his brainchild. He advocated eating local and healthy. He won majority in elections.

Look around the diaspora, highly educated and successful Guyanese all around the globe. All as a result of Burnham's leadership.

Dukes, Chrissy, Narper, Larr, Runs,Norm, Ninetenjack, amongst many others, all are products and bi-products

He did not have to Mingo or Lowenfield any results either.

Ballot box counts were used to declare winner.

That's the equivalent of banning pudding and souse in Bim.

Aloo and dhall is everyday food for many.

But I can honestly say, this forum would not have existed if Burnham, putting on his sportman's hat, did not fly Sir Clive Lloyd into Bourda to showcase the latter as a future captain of West Indies.

Talk Nah!

More on that potato and dhall thing, he also banned apples and grapes.

Now tell me, why do Guyanese people need apples and grapes with all types of great local fruits?

My understanding it was due to fiscal maneuvering! Dhall or free education….can’t have both

True dat.... lol one note of clarification the helicopter landed at the Vlissengen residence then he ran into Bourda.

Also he was already captain at this point, but the above did happen, and Lloyd made 148 and Kali 184 against the Trinis. Good memories...

But if you had "connections " you could get on black market.

Tell me which Caribbean leader would look as good on a white horse in khakis, motivating his people in a field?
