Was he injured earlier this year and now fit?
This guy failed in home series this year. for me he would have to be injured...I dont respect WI pacers who cant do well in their conditions.
Is he injury prone? Why after failing in the home series should he be travelling to Sri Lanka IN FRONT OF A YOUNG EMERGING PACER? Already a rookie pacer Jayden Seales has stepped in front Gabriel.
In my opinion Gabriel should be made to perform in the four day tournament to regain his spot.

Gabriel is there base on performances from two years ago and a coach who trust him, I agree a younger performing pacer should have gotten the opportunity, for example C Holder, Joseph.

apart from the rhetorical questions about Gabriel being injury prone... lol...
I agree...
better in the cupboard, if only on promise...
the best way to TEST his Fitness and level is indeed some Four Day stuff.

they can't do that he will not survive 2 four day games

Make him struggle like how the colonials made you struggle- You will get there
Both AJ and CH are struggling

I think the pace the bowls at and his build has caught up on him.
His fitness issues have become like Fidel Edwards and Pedro Collins in that it's near impossible for him to maintain pace and fitness in a test series regardless of if it is 2, 3 or 4 tests long.
Having no FC cricket domestically obviously hasn't helped and I think it's time to start rotating Gabriel out of the side now that there some depth in the pace options cupboard.

Could you please name the pace options we have. I mean "Pace" not a bunch of medium to slow bowlers.

I'd have picked Alzarri Joseph or Chemar Holder ahead of Gabriel.
