Legendary fast bowler, Curtly Ambrose, does not believe Shimron Hetmyer is ready to be captain of the West Indies team as the batsman still has areas of his individual game to develop.
Earlier this week, former Cricket West Indies (CWI) president Dave Cameron was reported as saying that Hetmyer should replace Pollard as the team’s new white-ball captain. In further clarifying the issue, however, Cameron has since explained that he believes his administration would have done more to groom the player to take over the post by now.
“I certainly wouldn't (make him captain). Hetmyer is a young man and could be a future captain in the making but I think Hetmyer needs to get his game in order first,” Ambrose told the Mason and Guest radio program.

That stale news, he, Clive, Your Trini counterpart and Philo said that on the Mason show last Tuesday.

With due respect ......begs to differ.... with hardly 12 months left for T-20 World Cup.... rebuilding should start immediately....a Captain, who could command his place in the team....first and foremost...Pollard Mr.Average 12.... can't continue......

My only question for Ambi would be: Outside of the current captain(who has poor averages all around), who in the current team is best suited for captaincy, based on having their game in order?

any idiot with commonsense can see this as a simple fact.
Neither he nor Pooran ready...
and Hetmyer is even less ready than Pooran

Pooran is a winning captain. I disagree.

He has won every game he has captained.
this has made him better than Hetmyer in most departments , true...but that does not make him a SOLID captain...not yet.

So how many games Hetymer captained and lost for the sake of comparison?

Hetmeyer left his U19 campaign as a WINNER!!! That mindset should should have been harnessed along with that of his team. They should have been kept together as a TEAM as much as possible, playing FC as an U23 side. Instead much of that team were not groomed, force ripened or had their FUNDAMENTALS degraded by the blitz of T20 way too early. We had a potent opening bowling pair of Joseph and C Holder, along with Springer and Paul(decent all rounder at the time). Paul and Joseph got their opportunities at FC very early and were pretty successful. They both made it to the WI senior team and started off relatively well. Springer and Holder struggled to get into their FC team. The same has happened to the batsmen of that U19 team.
If you remove one player from that u19 team, lets say the keeper and you add Pooran, I believe that we would have a very formidable U25 team right now. Most would be ready at this time to take over the mantle from the senior team.

He has won every game he has captained.
I'm afraid that is incorrect. He has done well in the 5 games he has captained but lost 1 against Australia in the 4th t20 match in St. Lucia this year. There is only one W.I captain with a perfect record in t20 cricket. Can anyone guess who it is? I'll give you a hint if you can't figure it out
