T&T...Four murders recorded before end of SoE
Four murders were reported just hours before the State of Emergency (SoE) ended.
The killings took the countrys murder toll for the year so far to 377 compared to 358 for the period last year.On the eve of the SoE lifting, two Port-of-Spain men were gunned down while at their home on Tuesday night.
Guardian Media understands Rashidi Haynes, 32, and Bryan St Louis, 44, were at their Lodge Street, Port- of- Spain, home at around 11.30 pm when they were shot several times.
Earlier in the day on Tuesday, a 36-year-old Valencia man was gunned down.
Police said they were on mobile patrol around 9 am when they were stopped and told that a man was shot at Bertrand Street, Valencia.
Also, a 39-year-old Diego Martin man who was reported missing by relatives earlier in November was found dead on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said a relative visited the Unity Road, Richplain, home of Lawrence McIntosh at around 6.30 pm and broke down the door to enter.
He found McIntoshs body in the bedroom of the house with blood stains near the head.
Meanwhile, in other crime news, police are searching for a man who allegedly raped and kidnapped a 20-year-old woman on Tuesday.
The victim told police at 6.15 pm she went to a clothing store in Maloney Gardens for a job interview.During the interview the man began making sexual advancements towards her, and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.The woman escaped about two hours later and immediately went to the Maloney Police Station and made a report.
She was then taken to then Arima General Hospital to be medically examined.WPC Horsford is continuing enquiries.
In Tunapuna, three persons were robbed and beaten at gunpoint in Tunapuna on Tuesday night.The victims went to meet a man known to them along St Thomas Lane, Tunapuna, at about 7.30 pm to make a purchase.While there, the group was confronted by two personsincluding the man they went to meet.One of the suspects pulled out a gun and began beating the three friends.
