GTFOH Jason. Leaving out the best opening pair ever, your own countrymen, just to pander?

Shows that you are and will always be a pu$$y. Grow some balls for goodness sake.

In reply to WestDemicks. Must be respected. I like 5 of choices myself. Present your 11. Gavaskar must open and Roberts must bowl for me

He is a long time Gayle enthusiast for some reason.

Don't get it why players of his ilk unevenly elevate likes of Gayle, Ambrose even Scammy.

In doing so they demote the proven giants who in fact built the house of WI cricket.

The historic impact of these giants on world cricket cannot be understated.

You cant discuss cricket's transformation to the status of world's second most popular sport minus Headley, Sobers, Richards, the 3Ws, Lloyd, Greenidge and Haynes, and comparable icons.

They were not only superlative players they were critical in the upward mobility of the global game on and off the pitch.

Gayle, Ambrose, Scammy were not and cannot be change agents for world cricket.

Maybe actual cricketers know more and better than armchair critics

This is Jason Holder's X1, why would he or anyone think like you?

Solid ODI side in my opinion.

By any criteria Ambrose is a giant of the game.

Even more evidence to support that the right decision was made to remove him from the captaincy.

Jason knows about cricket therefore he knows that naming Gayle and Shewag as the best openers ever is absolute bullshit. That tells me it's about some agenda. He has always stuck me as an underhanded kind of guy. His favoritism for below average Bajan players (Nurse, Carter etc.) and the poor treatment of talented players (Aljo, Hetmyer, Walsh) speaks to that underhandedness.

When I heard the Big Idiot say that if he was still President Jason would be captain I wanted to puke. Maybe he sees some of his own characteristics in Jason.

You think when Jason looks in the mirror he sees you or anyone he want to think and be?
The bolded tells the world what you think of some, you only see on a cricket field.
Post your X1, lets see if it would be excepted by all.

Many "actual" cricketers do not read about cricket and cricketers so are unable to assess the relative strengths and weaknesses of cricketers who played before their time.
Anybody who picks Gayle as an opener in an all-time test team can not qualify as a person knowledgable about cricket history.

What's wrong with Gayle as an opener??? Yes he is the Universe Ass but as far as great openers goes Gayle would've been one of the only one's to play all three formats of the game and done so successfully!!! Paired with Virender Sehwag theoretically you can look at possibly scoring close to 200 in a session!!! Albeit one would've have to factor in how modern cricket is being played with bigger bats and a lot more emphasis on batting!!!

Drapsey 2021-11-21 05:01:58

Come on guys, Gayle and Shewag are the only two openers to score 2 test triple centuries, one away from home for each of them no less.

WestDem: It must hurt that not a single Muddie is included in JHo's team.

ducks 2021-11-21 07:25:00

Did any body notice that Jasons all time only goes back to the mid 20th century? Lighten up it says Jasons !

Brerzerk 2021-11-21 07:39:29

From Jason's perspective, what he has seen and how cricket is played now that is a damned good team. Big Jase is also the only one of many cricketers asked to name all-time XI's who has included 6 credible West Indians or even more than two Windians in any of those all-time teams.

His avg. # of tons n fifties compare favorably with Haynes n Greenidg who had each other and a strong top six to succor them. Gayle has had at least 20 test opening partners none of which averaged 30 or more. Many say the two triples are what bring up Gayles avg. but compare his 50's n tons per # of innings with our great pair and it is close. Even so with Freddo n Hunte.
