Trini Brit force ripe is a jinx...lol

Narper 2024-11-16 19:33:40

Bright blue skies welcome us in St Lucia today. That's a good news. We are set for an on-time start today.

Narper 2024-11-16 19:34:19

West Indies have won the toss and have opted to field

Narper 2024-11-16 19:35:53

Rovman Powell:
We are gonna bowl first, it looks like a good surface. Important to bowl well and get a good start. From a team's point of view it is better to lose the series 3-2. We have two changes. Sherfane Rutherford comes in for Romario Shepherd and Obed McCoy comes in for Hinds. We have kept losing wickets in clusters. If the guys show good technical skills, that will be good. Today provides us an oppurtunity to correct that.

Narper 2024-11-16 19:37:54

Buttler:
It has been a challenge for the team batting first throughout the series. One change for us - John Turner comes in for Jofra Archer. Our bowlers have bowled well in the last two games. Today presents a new challenge for us and we are up for it.

mikesiva 2024-11-16 19:40:09

Obed McCoy to Philip Salt, leg byes, FOUR, that's sloppy!Fullish delivery swinging down, Philip Salt looks to flick it across but it deflects off his pads towards square leg. Salt looks for a run. The throw from the fielder is a wild one and it flies over the keeper and through to the fence

Narper 2024-11-16 20:04:11

Obed McCoy to Philip Salt, FOUR, shot! Pitched up on middle and leg, swinging in, Philip Salt lofts it over the bowler's head and picks up a boundary. Didn't overhit it

4.2
Alzarri Joseph to Will Jacks, 2 runs, back of a length ball seaming in from outside off, Will Jacks mistimes the swipe through mid-wicket. Some good running between the wickets allows the batters to take a couple

Alzarri Joseph to Will Jacks, out Caught by Pooran!! Alzarri Joseph strikes! 137.9kph hard length delivery angling in towards leg-stump, Will Jacks gives himself room as he tries to swipe it across but only manages to get a top-edge behind. Pooran moves to his left and accepts it gleefully. Jacks was done in for pace there and he has perished. A good cameo from Will Jacks nonetheless.

Akeal Hosein to Philip Salt, 1 run, has that carried? Fabulous effort from McCoy but he is not claiming the catch. Quicker and flatter, Philip Salt mishits it towards long-off. McCoy covers good ground as he moves in front briskly. He dives full length and it seems to have landed just in front before going into his hands.

Roston Chase to Philip Salt, out Caught by Pooran!! That's as soft a dismissal as it can get! Philip Salt has a wry smile on his face as he walks past his skipper and keeps going towards the dressing room. Was a half-tracker down the leg-side, Philip Salt wanted to pull it too hard but only managed to get a bit of glove on it perhaps. A good take from Pooran behind the stumps and the umpire had no hesitation in ruling it out. End of a brilliant knock from Philip Salt

Motie to Buttler, out Caught by Roston Chase!! Buttler departs in a bid to keep the momentum going! Disappointment for the English skipper. A bit of a bonus for Motie as it wasn't really a wicket-taking delivery.

Jacob Bethell:
There wasn’t a lot for the spinners. The slower back of the length ball were gripping a bit for the seamers. In a short format like this, runs are so crucial. You have to runs twos and ones and keep finding the boundaries. Jacks got us off to a good start but he couldn't carry on. Salty kept going and played a good knock. It’s a good total, we will see how the conditions change and hopefully, we can defend.

We had to assess, that's what we struggled in the earlier games. Just had to understand the situation and had to come out on top in the powerplay. Just need to do what the team requires. It's about understanding what is required and what the team needs. I prefer to bat in the middle, but I want to enjoy my cricket, so happy to bat anywhere.

Jos Buttler:
Was an excellent wicket. We got off to a good start. They played exceptionally well and put us under pressure. They were hitting it over the fielders, so we were trying to keep fielders in different areas and tried to take their focus away. I think wrist spinners are wicket-takers in T20Is. Rehan brought us back in the game by creating chances. He is going to play a big part in the future. It was a good performance by us, but West Indies put up a good show and chased it down.

Narper 2024-11-16 23:52:48

Powell:
The guys were more committed today. All guys played well today. We are trying to tinker with the selection to get the right combination. We were forced to use only five bowlers today. He is very important for us. He is a spearhead of our bowlers, the other bowlers need to reach his standards. We have been looking around the Caribbean for bowlers, it's an opportunity for the bowlers to keep bowling well. There is still a lot to play for. We want to play well for the people of St Lucia who come out and watch us play.
