While the pitch might be spinner friendly, do we have a spinner who can use the pitch and get results... I have a feeling that we might be better placed if we had played Roach and Seales in the place of Cornwall and Wariccan.
Our spinners don't cut at international level.

Ah, but our spinners took 8 wickets in total. I would have gone with Roach for Gabriel and Seales for Cornwall. I was hoping for more from Cornwall to be honest. I think Mayers could also have been given more overs, just my humble opinion.

I am surprise that people are not talking about the part-time spinner taking more wickets that the specialist spinners. The Selectors have to decide what to do going forward, but Cornwall seem to be back to his normal weight and cannot chase balls, when last have anyone seen a wicketkeeper chasing balls to the boundary in Test cricket.

Yes. Eventually someone in the lineup needs to pick wickets. Difference is at the end of Day 1 SL at 267/3 and WI Struggling at 113/6. You decide the spinners who are effective and would give their team a better chance.

or is the difference really that of our really poor batting technique/talent? AS a previous poster pointed out, Chase got a 5 for and we got 7 wickets today for 119 runs, including 2 very well set batsmen. Not that different from our batting performance. Maybe the pitch just got better for bowlers on day 2.
