The crew who wanted to drop Kyle Mayers
In reply to doosra
he did have a string of 1 balls
i likemayers but just too many soft dismissals in the 40's
In reply to doosra
A team with Mayers & Holder....weaken the top order....to my mind solution is either of them should bat in top 5.....Mayers did bat at No.4.....failed ....then pushed back to no.6.....in test cricket to be successful team....pure batsman or bowler or genuine all rounder........Mayers did very well against Bangladesh as batsman..... subsequent performance as batsman is abysmal....as bowler, hardly bowled in this test....
In reply to sudden
that is not sufficient reason to drop a player with the start he had
In reply to velo
that is a good problem to solve
unlike the 20sintings
In reply to Onionman0
is that out of your brain or batty?
In reply to doosra
The sub continental bully you talking about? Let's see how he does the next time the pace gets hot.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Which WI batsman handles pace?
In reply to sudden
He and Shy Hope are standouts at how bad they are at handling pace. Imagine Shy came in as a concussion sub for an opener and they sent up Blackwood of all people to open and let Shy bat at 4. Is someone protecting him? He better step up to the plate or get gone from the team!!!
In reply to Larr Pullo
man stop talking shoite.
they all have problems with pace.
just the other day Tarnish Silva was running and ducking, the openers were skipping, Blackwood was staying outside leg and the others were flinging bat hoping to hit something before they get hit
In reply to sudden
I saw Blackwood score a ton in NZ when none of them could come to terms with the pace and aggression. Are you sure you talking about the same Blackwood?
In reply to Larr Pullo
did he get in line? i said he stayed outside leg. may be the correct place to be or rather effective when the pace hot
In reply to sudden
Don't know what game you were watching, or your memory has dimmed somewhat with the passage of time? I remember him hooking wagner onto the grassy bank when Wagner got bouncer happy with him...Could he have done that staying legside of the ball?
In reply to Larr Pullo
ok. maybe me. i dont think i watched that game. i am talking more about recently.
in any case in terms of fast bowling he is the cleanest of the dirty shirts and not by much. in the land of the immobile the one foot man is kning
Pace?.. That means WI batsmen fraid a both pace and cant bat spin. God help them play cricket.
That 40 will ensure he stayed on west indies for another 5 years
In reply to cricketfreak
How many batsmen scored a double on debut? He is part of an elite list. That is for the haters to chew on.
Meyers is like Blackwood, they have iffy techniques, but they score runs relatively quickly, so by the time the bowlers get them out they already have a thirty or forty.
In reply to dayne
And you think 30's and 40's work for test cricket?
In reply to doosra
I had no idea West Indies Cricket Selectors were posting on this MB
In reply to cricketfreak
i think Mayers should be dropped next match now that he has scored 40 or thereabouts
In reply to Larr Pullo
Thirties and forties are not sufficient for Test cricket, but if more batsmen score forties and one goes on to make century, the WI will find themselves in better positions, because their bowling is decent.
So basically we just need a team of lethal allrounders that can score at least 40 runs each!
West Indies test team
Where 40 is the new century
In reply to Windiesfan78
i could live with that considering what we actually have!
In reply to doosra
