I have been reliably informed that Dre Russ was the point man who recruited many of his boys.

26 West Indians in it. That must be another record ....

I am happy for them once these never ending leagues do not prevent our best players from playing our regional FC, ODI and CPL competitions and being available if selected for the international teams. Perhaps the endless march of these leagues will mean that our professional players can make a satisfactory living without having to cue up for IPL which inevitably conflicts with domestic agendas. I hope that these leagues are also imparting a professional approach to the game to the players that will serve them in good stead in their careers.

Great. The Jamaican media need to highlight this instead of discussing the hapless Worst Indies on KLAS and Radio2.
Let the people know the youths have choices outside of the worst cricket team.

Congrats Dre Russ

Any WI player able to sign up should make themselves available, especially with limited IPL selections, probably due to WI dismal performance during the World Cup.

navindesigns 2021-12-05 22:22:18

Dre Russ and Pollard should open the batting for WI in t20s

The IPL is the best franchise cricket league on the planet.

Why shouldn’t our players or any others, aspire to play in it?

Another question.

Did our cricket decline begin with the advent of the IPL?

The IPL appears to be a convenient scapegoat for our cricketing woes. I put it to you that our decline began long before the IPL was even thought of, far less a reality.
