Ramesh Mendis to Shai Hope, out Bowled!! Gone! Ramesh Mendis exults. Regulation offbreak from Ramesh Mendis, Shai Hope goes deep in his crease to whip, but misses, brushes the pad and hits the top of middle and leg. Hope was fooled by the loop, should've been forward to that, instead went back and paid the price. His poor run with the bat continues and West Indies have lost three already

Shai Hope b Ramesh Mendis 3(9)

If anyone needs to play 4 day cricket to get his mojo back it is Shai Hope.Meantime I would bring in Hetty and Pooran and drop Hope and Warrican.I would put Chase in at #7 and hope he can recapture the sort of form he had 3-4 years ago.

It is 1 thing to have the data but it is a whole new thing to be able to INTERPRET IT!!!!!!!

Here is a clue, EINSTEIN'S THEORY OF RELATIVITY.

When you use statistics in certain instances you are only going to get the tallest midget among the population, not a the tall giant you are apparently seeking and at he end of the day, it still won't give you the outcome you are looking for.

What is needed is a better first class system from the grass-roots level with a longer playing season- all year.

You also need better tour preparation, so for example, our boys did not have a first class match, we need 3 warm up matches before the first test.

I was the person way back in early 2020 who castigated CWI for scheduling white ball visit by Ireland during our domestic first class season and then touring Sri Lanka for more white ball cricket before the season was complete. The folly of devaluing our first class season has resulted in our top players not playing any first class cricket, once their test careers/ODI careers have begun.Paradoxically it is that devalued first class season that allowed Jermaine Blackwood to return to the fore.

You also need better tour preparation, so for example, our boys did not have a first class match, we need 3 warm up matches before the first test.

That is not dealing with reality.MONEY TALKS and that in these financial times is a non-starter We could want it all we can but it is not going to happen.
We need to ALWAYS,put our BEST TEAM on the field and that is not taking place. The best batsmen in white ball cricket are our best batsmen in red ball cricket. There was absolutely no difference between our test team and ODI team back when we were champions.Hetty and Pooran are our best batsmen.Do they need to play 4 day cricket? Absolutely. Everybody does!!!!!
