Chaminda Vass To His Youth Team:

TheTrail 2021-11-24 14:32:52

Fellow, pitch this ball up and get this game over.

This time I am deeply disappointed with these players and their inability to play spin.

Also, CWI, the Coaching staff, and especially the Batting Coach should shoulder the blame here.

Where the heck did Simmons and Skerritt find him?

I think this CWI should take a LONG, very, very LONG Sabbatical from Cricket. This Org is not moving forward.

Fall of wickets: 1-3 (Kraigg Brathwaite, 3.4 ov), 2-11 (Jermaine Blackwood, 6.4 ov), 3-14 (Shai Hope, 9.1 ov), 4-15 (Roston Chase, 10.2 ov), 5-18 (Kyle Mayers, 11.3 ov), 6-18 (Jason Holder, 11.4 ov)

Disgraceful

Yes.

Zimbabwe stepped away from test Cricket for a while. I think it was about two or three years they did not play Test Cricket.

Coaching can only make a difference if the players are together as a group for a long time (6 months to a year maybe). When you have the players globetrotting and then thrown together for a few weeks while competing at the highest level coaching is of little or no use. If you have played any form of competitive cricket you will understand how difficult it is to make changes!
Unfortunately cricket does not have a typical season like American pro sports, so any remedial work or tinkering with technique has to be done at the FC level.

we spend big money on a head coach but does not give him anything much to work with, money need to be spent at the local levels.

What more does he need?

Isn't Simmons the one who should be setting the agenda of the test team?

Maybe He should stop daydreaming in the Chairs and pay more attention to the players' needs. They are silently screaming for help in the batting department. Hire a good batting Coach who could help correct most of their flaws and eventually stop them from being a laughing stock of the Test Cricketing world.

Be a man and stop the pettiness, go against the grain, pick him to help you out. Let bygones be bygones - swallow your pride for the betterment of WI Cricket.

What about Jimmy Adams, what is his sole in the current set up?

We are talking about test cricket, right?

In the test team/squad, Jason Holder is the only one who plays IPL Cricket, I think.

Are you aware that the BCA has not produce a solid batsman, since Dessie?
The problem lies with every regional board, net sessions seem to be the same for every player.
Decades ago, players learn from playing at the beach, in the road, gulley and any surface that was available, today every thing is structured, with everyone being taught from the same book.
What ever happen to improve a player strength and work to improve his flaws?

Kraigg, Shai and others, must know their short comings, who are they working with, and are they spending hours working on their game?
Blackwood out is not unusual, it is part of muscle memory.
