After 43 years he’s a millionaire

Only in America, would you say?

Donations pour in for Kevin Strickland, a Missouri man freed after 43 years.

Of course, there is no indication of where this money is coming from, if from the USA only, which I doubt. But I only wish I could know if right-wing Republicans would contributing to such a fund or the families of the prosecutor and the lying police officers who contributed to his false imprisonment.

The Midwest Innocence Project set up the GoFundMe fundraiser as they fought for Kevin Strickland’s release, noting that he wouldn’t receive compensation from Missouri and would need help paying for basic living expenses. The state only allows wrongful imprisonment payments to people who were exonerated through DNA evidence, so the 62-year-old Strickland wouldn’t qualify.

The worst part of this is that the state does not pay restitution after wrongfully locking up people

That "only DNA" loophole is crap!
