Donations pour in for Kevin Strickland, a Missouri man freed after 43 years.
Of course, there is no indication of where this money is coming from, if from the USA only, which I doubt. But I only wish I could know if right-wing Republicans would contributing to such a fund or the families of the prosecutor and the lying police officers who contributed to his false imprisonment.
The Midwest Innocence Project set up the GoFundMe fundraiser as they fought for Kevin Stricklands release, noting that he wouldnt receive compensation from Missouri and would need help paying for basic living expenses. The state only allows wrongful imprisonment payments to people who were exonerated through DNA evidence, so the 62-year-old Strickland wouldnt qualify.
