HEADLINE: Gayle, Bravo lead list of 9 West Indies players not retained in IPL shake-up

The trio of Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, and Nicholas Pooran led a list of 9 West Indies players not retained by their respective Indian Premier League (IPL) teams ahead of the upcoming mega auction.

The 38-year-old Bravo, who has been with Chennai Super Kings since 2018, and previously spent four years with the franchise between 2011–2015, was a part of the team’s IPL-winning run last season.  Retention policies, however, forced the team to shed a few of the team’s veteran players.

Gayle, Pooran, and Fabian Allen, in the meantime, all played for Punjab King’s XI with Gayle and Pooran having seasons to forget.  Gayle averaged 21.44 in 10 games, while Pooran averaged a measly 7.72 in 12 games.  Punjab retained only Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh and will have a hefty purse for the auction.

So who will pay big money for him now?
Two years in a row he has failed in IPL
Even if he is picked up in the auction...he will be warming the bench whole IPL

Assume you talking Pooran, he could have a great year and come back next year with a bigger contract than he had last year.

icky Poo should now think seriously about playing test cricket.

Pooran window to adopt to test cricket has now passed.. He might as well make the best of whatever the 20/20 game has to offer.

I hope some team picks him up and that a change in managing and team structure helps, or else is last chance saloon.....

In reply to birdEven if Pooran fail 2 years in a row he still has other chances with Pakistan,S.Lanka,Bangladesh,he will also be picked up by other IPL clubs. You are talking pure shyte,he will be back because he's young. In professional sports it happens that one club don't retain you, but others would have you.You hope his glory was short lived and that is a West Indian attitude, you are no different from the rest.

There's no way Pooran takes the gloves from da Silva.

If Pooran keeping is so poor over 20 overs, imagine how bad it would be over 100.

Did you see DaSilva yesterday day? He drop the match and then miss am easy stumping. More balls hit him in his chest than he collects cleanly.the boy is a shopkeeper.
