Former West Indies wicketkeeper, Deryck Murray, believes drastic structural changes must be implemented in order for the team to have any hope of regaining its place among the elites of international cricket.

Earlier this week regional cricket governing body Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced the decision to replace lead selector Roger Harper and Miles Bascombe, following a disastrous showing at the ICC T20 World Cup earlier this year, and subsequent fruitless tours of Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

 For Murray, however, the decisions may not run deep enough in tackling the substance of the issue.

“Yeah, they’re going to change the selectors, but are they going to exchange some for others or is it going to be a real radical change in the way West Indies cricket is run,” Murray queried on the Mason and Guest radio program.

He is correct. The selectors are just one part of the overall failures of CWI/WICBC etc.
Since Stollmeyer resigned we have been on a downhill path.
The ones they elected played good cricket but were bad administrators.
Most great players are bad managers of said game. Only a few excel at managing.
WI I think took the "bad" managing part and made it law.
We have gotten bad President after bad president one after another.
Skeritt the book is not yet out on him.
He needs two good years to clean house and put/ bring in business and cricket people.
People who knows the ins and outs of cricket and not afraid to pull strings to advance WI cricket.
Forget refgions and history. Our historic past is becoming "foggy" with the amount of "licks" we getting in all facets of the game.
So a new approach is needed.
Skeritt I hope you seek advice from stalwarts like Murray who played and understood the game and excelled at managing to help you.
Get rid of the Cameron to Hall past.
