I saw the team mates of this youngster laughing after every delivery he face, that was something we did playing road and gully cricket, 40-50 years ago.
This is 2022, a youngster playing cricket in St. Kitts and no one spent hours with him, on his batting?

I'm more disappointed that a 6' 4 or 5" player is bowling spin!!!

I am more dissapponted with our spinners not turning the ball... Both of them had very little compared to the Aussie spinners.

It might help them get wickets in WI set up where patience is very little but it is not going to help them move up.

WI had a record breaking spinner in Lance Gibbs and Roger Harper who was decent in his own right, both of whom were quite tall and athletic! razz

That's it right there....!!!

Nobody tries to spin these days.. It's like they're afraid it will affect their control..

Can't turn the ball if you bowling quick and flat like a medium pacer.. in the trials they had about 4 wrist spinners, two were chinaman.. not one made it to the final squad.. instead the selectors went for a bunch of gentle medium pacers that calling themselves spinners.

I can't understand why Amurdan is in the reserves after dominating the trials and Parris in the final squad.. to add to that ah dunno how that gentle medium pacer that opened the bowling made the squad ahead of the two left arm pacers from the trials.

A recollection on the Amory name.

As a kid growing up in the Jamaica countryside, I attended a cricket match at Jarret Park that featured some 'fringe' West Indian players (President's XI, maybe) against a touring English team.

Vance Amory was one of the featured batsmen. What remains memorable was how (it looked) he would stretch about halfway down the pitch to complete his defensive strokes.
