He looked like a man who removed a ton of bricks off his shoulders. I am extremely happy for him but may I remind him that "one swallow doesn't make a summer."
We need him to trump up many more victories and he should be smart enough not to rest on his laurels because the modern West Indian cricket fan is only interested in positive cricket results and wouldn't hesitate to kick him in his backside again.

Has a fire been lit under coach Simmons' backside?
The West Indian think tank has been very impressive here. They knew that England would come at them and they obviously tried not to be predictable.
Bag one for Simmons here.
I like the thought process of not being predictable. It tells me there has been some planning. They did not get the execution right but...
I am happy.
Good planning guys.
Well done lads. You were not disgraced.

Plan coming together nicely

The green shoots of thinking cricketers. That's what I want to see...develop pathways to win.
I'll take this anyday.
Didn't view any of the match today regretably but I got the tail end of Pollard's interview and there appears to be more planning going into these matches. Good on West Indies.
I believe I have to keep the fire fully lit under Phil's bottom to take him completely out of his slumber.
Well done Phil.

If you have a good professional league then the team dont need a coach
I just cannot afford to take the fire off Simmons' backside.
Phil, tomorrow will sound "the bell that will get you to heaven or to hell."
And fire in your bottom from tonight.
Normal service has been restored to West Indies cricket. There was a glaring lack of strategic and I dare say a restoration of a laid back approach today.
And the international teams take advantage of our "headlessness."
