I would like to see a full strength team:
Lewis
Hope
Pooran (c)
Hetmyer (vc)
Mayers
Holder
Shepherd
Smith
Joseph
Hosein
McCoy
Reserves: Chase, Seales, Walsh Jr and King

no problems at all with that team but in the first XI I would swop out one of Smith or Shepherd for Chase or Walsh so that we have two spinners and not such a one dimensional attack. I would also like to see Carty in the reserves.

I'm ok with that, Chase has been decent with his spin. I wonder how he would do batting lower down the order.

Probably Chase. Can split Pooran and Hetmeyer to keep left/right combo at the top.

Yes, Chase has been playing as anchor in the upper order when he has had his regional successes in ODI. He still has not translated those to international success but prob deserves more chances as his bowling and fielding are decent enough to keep him around a final XI. if we go for Chase who comes out, Shepherd or Smith? I would prefer Shepherd to Smith in ODIs as he has shown an ability to bat for longer periods. We should probably not discount Reifer as well as an option for the fourth seamer spot after McCoy, Joseph and Holder.

I'd add Rovman Powell to that squad for Chase or King.

Et al. Just read what team had been proposed ...
Without getting into profane and vulgar language its very sad when the SUPPOSEDLY the top players are being touted to be selected to play against Netherlands .
We should be sending a D team to Netherlands in the real world..
To send the very best just shows how far down the latrine our standard has fallen.
Netherlands should cancel the tour ...

probably for King. Chase offers a spin option which should be important depending on pitch conditions. We learnt that lesson of the importance of a balanced attack from Ireland beating us up in Jamaica I hope.

The reason why the WI team is going to the Netherlands is if they win 3-0 they gain automatic entry to the World Cup 50 over competition next year. Failure to do so means they have to waste time and money qualifying.
Hope that helps!!!

the person who is picked to lead the side will be the next white ball captain, lets not forget the subplot inside the main plot

he just seems to be freezing at the international level lately. I suppose that it is lack of confidence.

Thanks .. did not know this was a do or die for WI..... you said 3-0 must be the result ... should a game be abandoned and its 2-0 ..does it help WI..

Ireland recently beat WI in WI... WI would be off their rocker to not send the best guys available to Netherlands with Super League points at stake.

1. Netherlands have 3 good batsmen, all originally from South Africa- Rippon, Myburgh and Ackermann
2.They have 2 good bowlers, one from England and the other from New Zealand, whose grandfather was Simpson Guillen who played test cricket for the West Indies.Klaasen a left arm medium pacer and van Been whose GF was Guillen and right arm medium pacer
