HEADLINE: Women's CPL teams drafted

The local players have been drafted ahead of the historic first running of the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Premier League with the tournament set to get underway on 30 August. 

 

The three teams will be captained by Hayley Matthews (Barbados Royals), Stafanie Taylor (Guyana Amazon Warriors) and Deandra Dottin (Trinbago Knight Riders). 

 

With Matthews and Taylor rated in the top 10 T20 all-rounders in the world and Dottin one of the most destructive batters in the women’s game, all three players have shown their quality for the West Indies and in domestic competitions around the globe.

Why are there only eleven players per team? What if there are injuries? Shouldn’t there be at least 14 players in each squad?

When is CWI going to own the CPL? The crooks and/or incompetents who sold CPL to foreigners should be banished from cricket administration in the West Indies.
