When you actually talk to foreign athlete on US scholarship you realize how tough it is for some.
Nitro I hope you understand JB's analogy.

World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce underlined her brilliant form in the 100m after an almost effortless 10.70 seconds (1.1m/s) to win her first-round heat and headlined the first day of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships at the National Stadium.

Four women, including Kemba Nelson and Briana Williams, who both ran 10.98 seconds, and Shericka Jackson (10.99 seconds), ran under 11.00 seconds, while Yohan Blake responded to Oblique Seville’s 9.98 seconds with his season’s best 9.93 run.

The semi-finals and finals of both events will be run later today on the second day of the four day championships.

With news of American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson failing to get past the first round at the US Trials at Hayward Field in Oregon, the Jamaican women sent a strong message that they will be hard to dislodge from the pinnacle of the global sprints.

Shelly looks great but Shericka strolled that 10.9. Never seen her in such great physical shape.

I predict Kemba will beat Bri to that 4th spot.

I don think there is any cause for concern right now. She is just 20.

Maybe in another year or so, if she is not down to 10 8s high then we can start being concerned.

The problem with Briannna is the expectations since she has achieved so much as a junior.

If Tina starts beating her, maybe.

Chances are, that will be it for Shelly. Not expecting her to run the final.

She probably was just treating this as a training run, as if she were at a Diamond league meet, hence the fast time in this first round.

hey ..any word on whatever is up with Jevaughn Matherson? he popped in my mind because i am watching the 400 and saw Akeem Bloomfield. Maybe one of the KCOB purple posse might have some on the ground knowledge.

Briannia Lyston signed with LSU.

That is it. If Shelly did not show up for the 100 she would not be allowed to run the 200.
She had to show up

she does.. she didnt even need to enter the 100. from the moment she dropped a 10.7 yesterday going pretty flat out, you know she was not running the finals.

Even if Kemba gets ahead of Briana I think Briana will be favored for a relay spot based on
Championship experience.

You do realize that Shelly has a bye so if kemba finishes ahead of bri bri she gets to run the flat 100. We can have 4 entrants
