Yeah..Blake looked in as good a shape as I’ve seen him in a long time..I’m not sure if he has it in him to run 9.6s though because that’s probably what it will take to win gold in Oregon

Of course, the US champs are in Eugene, so the high altitude needs to be taken into account.

I think a 9.86 in Kingston is comparable to a 9.76 in Eugene.

Jacobs should have run at Rome, but he was apparently injured. So, he hasn't run since the World Indoors.

9.85 at Nat. Stadium is 9.79 in Oregon. I think Jacob's is hiding/getting away with something

I am not convinced that our 400M men and even women are putting in the work required to maintain competitive World Class times. Their personal bests suggest they can run those times.

Women's 200m

Semi final one

Elaine Thompson Herah 22.68

Semi final two

Shericka Jackson 22.85

Semi final three

Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce 22.54

All three had more in the tank.

Yohan Blake won his men's equivalent in 20.20.

I did mean Saturday. Happened both days - - last night wasn't as long as Friday night. It is unacceptable - we used to be among the best in the world at precision.

Many looking for fireworks in the women’s 200m final but don’t be surprised if it not.

Look at the motivation. Jackson, in her post 100m interview, hinted at doing something special in the final. I think she spoke out of turn. I know her connections not interested in anything at this point but to qualify. SFP probably the only one who wants to prove something to herself at this point in her training. ETH is just running to qualify.
The top three are so far away from the rest of the field that once they run the first 120m, I expect they can all shut it down and qualify easily. Therefore, I expect no fireworks.

Maybe even ETH might opt for the medical exemption once she is rated top three in the world. If that is on, I would expect her connections to think about that option.
