West Indies over the years seemed to have produced more bonafide All Rounders than most nations at our FC and Test (considering our smaller pop sample). I have personally witnessed Sobers, Boyce, Nobert Phillip and Bernard Julien in the flesh on the pitch doing it all. Sobers was in a calls by himself and I enjoyed wathcing BJ who was the closest thing to Sobers in talent IMHO though it never was fully realized. Others here have seen more tham me at FC , Test and even local levels over the years. My now deceased Uncle swore by Collie Smith though. What say you knowledeable ones here about Allrounders who really could do it all? It can also be memories of Local lads since only but so many can make a Test team etc. It would make for interestimg chatter. big grin

I know Clive Lloyd would agree with you 100% when it comes to Bernard Julien. He was profoundly disappointed that he did not fulfill his enormous potential.

That is a big statement to make and I think you are looking at it only from a WI centric point of view.

You probably don't know that many allrounders from other countries who plied their trade mainly at the FC level.

I suspect if you list all the top allrounders from each country, you'll find that Aus, Eng and SA have produced more and better allrounders over the years!

I did!!! I didnt mention JaHo as he was obvious. I can now add Mayers as well.

We were looking at allrounders at FC level primarily and names just do not come readily to mind!

Dwayne Bravo is terribly underrated. Had he been allowed a full test career he could have been ahead of Jason Holder by miles.
NB he did not have even a tad of the # of matches vs. Minnows as Jason has so that's one factor in the extrapolation of stats.

I think Keith Boyce also did well… And Hoops should’ve been listed

Was Bradshaw considered a potential all-rounder at international level?

Phillip could real bat but we drop the ball by allowing India to bully him out of the international game because they could not figure out which way the ball turning

in the current crop, perhaps Terrence Hinds? Agreed on both Banks and Bradshaw. Did Narsingh Deonarie bowl enough to be considered a FC allrounder?

Bradshaw was such an underestimated talent. He was so calm in situations and I will never forget when he hit that 4 and posed when we beat Ebgland to lift the ICC Champion's Trophy.

In reply to Cricket_101 I dont consider Hoops a bonafie Allrpunder. The term Bonafide means non occasional turn your arm toss up a few or Viv would be called an Allrounder.

I said based on population size bro. India has the largest population of cricketing nations WI is at the bottom. The ration is phenomenal IMHO.
