Roe v. Wade intended consequence

maj 2022-06-27 23:29:12

Will liberals move out of conservative states?

Was this an intended effect of the decision?

Turn purple states red, population shift.

you assuming only liberals get abortions

Who are more outraged about this decision?

My previous question still stands.

Brerzerk 2022-06-28 05:17:36

The silent minority, one out of four American women get at least one abortion. 30 percent of Americans...men and women oppose abortions but thanks to most of the pro-life men they have won the battle. Many of their wives have quietly gotten some of those abortions. Their outrage is hidden.

As of 2018..I'm sure the numbers are higher now.

Women have been more likely than men to identify as Democrats for decades, but today, 56 percent of women consider themselves Democrats or lean Democratic. The same is only true for 44 percent of men.

But answer the question..will it cause a population shift out of conservative states by Liberals? I mean who wants to live in a Nazi state?

An interesting outlook. Mind you, if that migration happens, then that might have a knock-on effect on the Electoral College votes. Colorado moves from 9 to 11, Missouri moves from 10 to 8, for example.

Actually ya dumbfcuk the intended consequence just might be that more liberals turn out to vote in the mid-terms in swing states.

No one gives a flying fcuk about red neck states and the dumbasses who live there.

This is not about abortion, it's about the right to choose. If the justices were following the will of the American people, they would not have arrived at this decision.

Exactly.

You think it is the job of a judicial body to follow the 'will' of the people?

Lordy.

There are exceptions, such as human rights, discrimination, etc...but yes, that should be a consideration

Ok boss....you actually doubling down...you really... lol.

Carry on.

I don't believe the shift would be that dramatic.

But people are fleeing states like NY and CA for Tx and FL. If anything it might be net zero effect.

Guy, I get it, sometimes they have to act outside of popular opinion but to say that majority opinion does not matter, is foolishness

Yes its about the right to choose and yes its abortion.

Their job is to interpret the Constitution

This is not Russia. In many cases, Judges make unpopular decisions to give minorities the rights that the majority, enjoys.

That's right dumbass. Their job isn't to take away a constitutional right like they repeatedly state when it comes to guns.

Well moron, the 2nd amendment is explicitly stated in the Constitution.

Really the right to have aboetions have taken away. Because thousands of abortions are happening right now in America seems to me the right is still there.

What do you think the 14th amendment is, stupid.

That right should be applied equally.

Your level of abject stupidity knows no bottom.

Abortions might be happening Doofus, but it's no longer a constitutionally protected right thanks to your degenerate Republican hacks for judges.

The right to have an abortion was never a constitutional right. The late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, whom I admired, said this herself, and Roe v. Wade was decided on the wrong premise.

Ginsburg’s Roe commentary gave some on the left pause during her 1993 confirmation hearings. She was nominated two decades after Roe and one year after it was affirmed in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. And some worried she would be insufficiently supportive of that precedent.

Listen Dumbass. You can cherry pick quotes and opinions all you want but the fact is that Roe v Wade insured that abortion was a constitutionally protected right under the 14th amendment and that constitutional right was taken away.

Rethink what you wrote, and answer this. Thousands of murders are happening does that mean the 'right' to murder exist?

maj 2022-06-29 00:18:53

In reply to Brerzerk

The Constitution gives rights to its citizens and restricts government from denying those rights.

Congress and States have the authority to create laws. Let them do such for abortion.

Everyone can agree murder is wrong, not everyone agrees abortion is not murder.

velo 2022-06-29 01:33:21

it's going to be interesting what happens when a woman gets a abortion in a state where it is legal but lives in a state where it is not will she be arrested when she goes back home if the authorities find out

nickoutr 2022-06-29 15:00:08

it is hard to believe that people riot and threaten SCOTUS judegs just to commit infanticide

Per Dems, infanticide is healthcare and great for the economy
