Message Board Archives
Rishi Sunak next british prime minister.
In reply to Jeremy
No love for Kemi?
Ahhh sorry , wrong person.
In reply to Halliwell
The Tory membership is too racist to pick Sunak as their leader.
In reply to mikesiva
He's implying that Jeremy is...
Oh wait, you picked up the rake then?
In reply to JahJah

In reply to mikesiva
Sunak will not be the new British PM,just wait for the vote and the shafting to begin.
British and ...oh well never mind. All I can say is the next PM of BRITAIN will be 'British"
In reply to WI_cricfan
Sunak is british born.
In reply to Jeremy
You are Guyanese born and you are Indian
Sunak is British born and he is British???
Does

compute
In reply to Halliwell
You forget the Indian part of West Indies?
In reply to sudden
Down goes the double minority- black and female
2 ultra white women and a roast breadfruit remains

Rishi Sunak top votes so far.
In reply to Halliwell
Rishi will make the final two but will the membership go for him?
I still don't think it's a question of race but rather on policies and his record.
His backstabbing of BoJo may not be forgiven by the Tory membership!
In reply to NineMiles
True- the fresh start morphed somehow into Liz and Rishi, and poor guy Rishi
the ladies have been distancing themselves from his, allegedly unilaterally imposed taxes
The ERG want a puppet, and theyll get Liz.
Alas, the minority that wins this time is white female.
Maybe tomorrow will be a better dawn for these sell-out Indians.
In reply to Halliwell
That's it there!
She tries to portray herself as the second coming of Thatcher but she hasn't got a mind of her own. It's like someone else is pulling the strings.
She was robotic, brain-dead, managing to make Theresa May sound engaging, animated and personable. A laugh a minute. If this is the prime minister the country has been waiting for then we have all been lobotomised.
From the inimitable John Crace (Guardian)
In reply to Halliwell
Badenoch supporters equals 59,not one will go to Sunak, maybe Mordant or Truss.
In reply to NineMiles
"She tries to portray herself as the second coming of Thatcher but she hasn't got a mind of her own. It's like someone else is pulling her strings."
Her G strings? 😁
In reply to Halliwell
Too bad my girl Kemi is out.
Rishi will not win the votes of the party members therefore he will not become the next prime minister. Either
Liz Truss ,or Penny Mordaunt will be the new party leader, and prime minister .
In reply to cricketmad
I suspect that is what will happen, but Truss could turn out to be the worst PM we ever had, this woman hasn't got a clue, please tell me why Kemi Badenoch, who IMO sounds better than both Truss and Mordant was eliminated. The Conservatives just cannot help but be Conservatives.
In reply to granite
If Kemi thought she could go all the way she was kidding herself. This country is not ready for a black female prime minister.
Between Sunak and Truss for the next PM
Votes were:
Sunak 137
Truss 113
Mordaunt 105
In reply to NineMiles
This whole soap opera was about Tory MPs switching their votes from one Tory jackass to another.
Now, these two will go to the Tory membership. They're between 100k - 200k who are mainly notoriously racist, elderly white people.
Truss will win.
Ugh!
I didn't know it was possible to have a more stupid PM than Boris Johnson, but Truss is that person.
In reply to mikesiva
It's no wonder BoJo is backing Truss.
But to be fair, BoJo is not stupid. He puts on an act and comes across like a buffoon but an idiot he is not.
Part of his charm to win the 'English' electorate.
For me, Truss is Theresa May MK2... will see how she campaigns in an election. She'll be a gift to Labour if she becomes PM.
In reply to NineMiles
Liz will win
Her minority claims to fame are 1. woman, 2. non Conservative parents, and 3. Comprehensive School.
In reply to Halliwell
For Jeremys sake I am hoping its Rishi
In reply to Halliwell
And she stood up to Putin.
In reply to sudden
For a sec there thought you were referring to Corbyn!
Rishi will lose by a very wide margin.
In reply to NineMiles
Who?

Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss reach final two in race to become next UK prime minister - BBC News
In reply to mikesiva
Was reading an article about Sunak this morning, and the article framed his liability as being wealthy and not understanding common people, said his wife's father is a billionaire. I think the objection is him being Indian.
In reply to camos
That's not the whole story.
He's wife was tax domiciled outside the UK when at a time he was raising taxes and National Insurance for everyone else during a cost of living crisis.
I think you lot just focus on the race issue when it is more nuanced than that.
For the conservatives, class is far more an issue than race!
In reply to NineMiles
His wife and her parents are citizen of india so i guess they are taxed in india.
The queen of england is also taxed outside the UK.
Whoever commonwealth prez Barroness supports will win! iz good obeah she have
In reply to Jeremy
No one except a white person will be Prime Minister of Britain.
In reply to problemjay
Baroness seh she tek out two Johnsons already
In reply to Chrissy
I take it y'all talking about Baroness Scotland of Asthal, the same one that reports to Her majesty the Queen??
In reply to Jeremy
She lives in the UK so should be paying tax in the UK. You think if you go to work in the US, you'll be paying tax in Guyana?
But you missing the crucial point as usual. At a time when Sunak was raising taxes on UK workers, it is not a good look for his wife to be tax domiciled elsewhere, especially for someone who aspires to become PM one day.
Also attending BoJo's birthday party during lockdown and being fined by the police not going to help his cause either.
I'm no royalist but I do know the queen pays some UK taxes.
And with all due respect, Ms Murty is no Queen!
Might help if you broaden your horizons a bit and get news from other sources rather that solely from the Indian media!
Link TextIn reply to NineMiles
Read here the queen do not pay taxes.
I know this because i saw on a documentary in canada that a few millionaires do not pay taxes in canada.
Some millionaires has home in caribbean islands and other islands around the world as their main residence.
The queen name and some ministers name came up on that list too.
The Crown has a legal tax-exempt status because certain Acts of Parliament do not apply to it. Crown bodies such as The Duchy of Lancaster are not subject to legislation concerning income tax, capital gains tax or inheritance tax. Furthermore, the Sovereign has no legal liability to pay such taxes.
In reply to Jeremy
Yes, the Monarchy benefits from tax exemptions but there was a public outcry back in 1992/93 resulting in the Queen and Prince Charles agreeing to pay the equivalent of income tax and capital gains tax.
That's why I said she pays some UK taxes.
In reply to NineMiles
I am hearing Rishi will be the British Obama if that comparison could be drawn
In reply to sudden
You mean a refined sellout?
In reply to Curtis
Rishi said, today, he is the:
1. Heir to Thatcher
2. Going to be even tougher on immigration!
In reply to Curtis
In reply to Halliwell
Rishi sounding more and more like the drone bomber Obama!
In reply to Khaga
Scary!!!
In reply to Halliwell
Atleast Obama pretended until after he received the Nobel..
I am one step ahead of the game. My UKEXIT is well in progress.
In reply to JeremyLiz
In reply to camos
Reality check for Rishi.
In reply to cricketmad
Dis done!!!
In reply to Halliwell
Do you think it is all over for the British Obama?
In reply to Halliwell
Still plenty of time left for Psycho Truss to reveal her true self. The TV debates will be key here!
Weirdo Truss
In reply to sudden
Sunak is no Obama!
In reply to NineMiles
When I first saw that I thought it was a bit of comedy from a Jeeves and Wooster episode
For that reason I would like to see her selected
Would be comedy gold
In reply to sudden
She'll certainly be a gift to Labour in the next general election.
In reply to NineMiles
Lets hope so.
I think comedians will have a good couple of years with her, if selected
Rishi is a well spoken guy. I personally feel he is more qualify for the pm job.
In reply to Jeremy
And he is whiter than Liz Truss at heart, but the party members want someone with lilly white skin.
In reply to cricketmad
Exactly!
Tory members don't want a brown man for party leader. Even if he is a roast breadfruit.
In reply to Jeremy Interesting whats his politics is he trumpi? What are British conservative values? His credentials are impeccable, he has no middle class friends but which politician of his stature does .will be an interesting ride .will white England submit? Obama 2.0?
In reply to birdseye
Seriously?
Is Donald Trump Carter 2.0? They are both white men!
In reply to Jeremy
Rishi didn't realise that no matter how hard he tried to prove to the Tory members that he's a roast breadfruit, the racist Tory members were always going to vote for the white candidate...even if they don't know anything about her!
