The tragic death of Omar Davis (Bahamas)

This was really really saddening...

His mother, Gia Whymns, said yesterday that her son, who was lovable, funny and intelligent, was set to start an internship at Deloitte in Atlanta, Georgia, at the end of the month.

“I was thinking and walking and thinking and walking,” she said.

“God must think I am built for battle. He take my son.”

In a video that went viral Tuesday night, Davis, in a speech during the Ministry of Education’s Public Scholars Awards Ceremony in 2018, recalled the heartbreak he went through watching his father’s murder.

Wish I knew - the article doesn't suggest any motive for the son's death - that said; if you're found in your own vehicle, one may believe that it's not a simple robbery-homicide but something more sinister cry

I don't know how many foreigners live in the Bahamas. It's probably a lot but the Bahamian population is only 161,000 the last time I checked. New Providence probably has less than 100,000 Bahamians.

In a population so small the recent level of violent crime is astounding. These are neighbours and schoolmates. It is distressing.
