Kirk Edwards awarded over $200 000....
In reply to nissan
What year did the breach occur?
I could not understand how such a good batsman could just fall off so.
In reply to Narper
Laundrygate?
Add to that, didnt appear that Bim management took kindly to his hairstyle and Rasta colours wristband.
In reply to nissan
Yes I remember the issues...many of us on this board condemned the BCA at the time
Only 29 ...with his best years ahead and they destroyed this player.
Regional boards have destroyed so many players
In reply to nissan
Should be $2,000,000.

This - mek dem pay
In reply to Narper
Some might say the 2012 tour of England is what destroyed his career
In reply to imusic
Some might say that was the head time he needed support.
In reply to Chrissy
Yuh 'fren' Conde involved?
In reply to Chrissy and Imusic
Very stupid at the time....look at Viv way back, Ambrose back then, Chris Gayle and Kyle Mayers now.
The colonial affected Bajan, could not take a locks hairstyle and Rastafari colours.
In reply to analyst-kid
Didnt Everton Matthis had dread locks???
In reply to StumpCam
Also David Murray before him and a guy from the Comnined Islands, was it Victor Eddy?
Very few West Indians understand the purpose of having POWER.It is my strong view that the acquisition of power means that people have put their faith in you to make whatever organization or entity BETTER.Many of our people believe that power is to be used to demonstrate that they are in charge..Mercifully only a few people ever experience the responsibility of power and indeed many who say exactly what I am saying if given power would abuse it.
In reply to culpepperboy
you are very correct..it should be
i always found it strange he just vanished from the scene after leading barbados to a title and he had a decent first class career ten first class hundreds ain't nothing to sneeze at.
In reply to velo
He had a disastrous tour of England after doing pretty well at home and on the subcontinent and didn't appear to be the same again.
In reply to StumpCam
Not as a player. The 1st WI FC player to wear locks is Victor Eddy...far as I recall
In reply to Dukes
Breds, I agree with U.
I have learned that having power is not to lord over ppl, but to serve them. I wish I knew that when I was younger.
In reply to Chrissy
The colonial affected Bajan, could not take a locks hairstyle and Rastafari colours.
The Afro Saxon mentality was at work.
I also recall, it was either late 90's or ealry 2000's, the esteem, now deceased Tony Cozier writing about how horrible it was that a Bajan fast bowler performed poorly because he "was unshaven" therefore he didn't care.
In reply to analyst-kid
The colonial affected Bajan, could not take a locks hairstyle and Rastafari colours.
Does the above make sense to you.
How many yardies or tits wear have worn locks hairstyle or Rasta colors while playing cricket.
Hartley Reid has responded to the settlement.
I can't find a link to the full story. I have a pdf on my phone, not sure how to share on here.
Best I can do
In reply to tc1
Yardies not Bajan bro. Different culture types.
In reply to tc1
We saying if they did, they wouldn't be Kirk n Edwards 2014.
In reply to natty_forever
however, you did not reference colonialism as the root cause for not wearing locks as the Kid did.
In reply to Scar
the Yardie rebel rasta yutes lips remain locked on the Queen's royal backside the colonial Bajans have told the Queen to take a hike.
Things not always what they seem
In reply to Castled
Yaad in the process.

Brainwashed- a brain washed with prejudice, insularity and bigotry.
Washbrain- washed of prejudice, insularity and bigotry.
In reply to Castled

In reply to natty_forever

Both Conde and Hartley was part of the last segment, on Mason and guest.
These two seem to be at war.
In reply to openning
wasn't Hartley the manager when this event occurred.
In reply to tc1
It seems he was.
Conde deflected the question asked about the settlement, and spoke about what is in place now, Andrew had to ask in to watch his tongue.
Hartley spoke about what he was charged in doing as the manager, that was all members of the Barbados team, had to signed for their kit.
Kirk refused to signed, having no kit when he arrived fro the regional tournament, was sent home.
Conde ws Vice President of the BCA and part of the policy at that time.
I blame the manager at that time, not knowing he was carrying out the policy of the BCA.
In reply to culpepperboy
Yep.

Waz up buds, how have you been?

Matthis cut his locks to play cricket.
Conde is an idiot....
Note what he said to the newspaper:
We have two lawyers on the Board.
When we got the claim we passed it on to committees and our lawyers
So it wasn't a Board decision , a lawyers advice as professionals...
So who authorized the Payment Conde?
The Board had no say.
