'And in Trinidad' my ass..

Idiot this happens in more developed and better equipped places than Trinidad all the time, the road was near a waterway and he drove and fell off into the waterway and he panicked, people told him to wait .

Members of the public are being warned not to risk their lives by driving through flood water following the death of one driver and predictions of further localised downpours at the end of the wettest April for 100 years.

As dozens of flood warnings and alerts remained in place across much of England and parts of Wales , the Met Office predicted more rain in the south overnight and on Tuesday.

The 52-year-old and his dog died when their car became completely submerged in 1.5m (5ft) of fast-flowing water while driving across Headley ford on the Hampshire–Berkshire border . His 54-year-old wife was able to escape from the car and was treated in hospital for shock but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 77-year-old man trapped on a flooded road in a severe thunderstorm has drowned in his car in northern France, the fifth victim of days of flooding around France.

The man died after taking a road inundated by quickly rising floodwaters that swept his car away, Etienne Desplanques, from the administration of the Pas de Calais region, told BFM-TV.

The death highlighted the severity of the storm, which required hundreds of interventions by rescue workers in the region.

At least 19 people have died in flooding across Europe.

The bodies of a woman and two men have been recovered after their troop carrier trying to cross a flooded causeway south-west of Darwin was swept off the road with 20 people on board.

The vehicle was pulled into the Moyle River near Peppimenarti while on its way to Wadeye some time before 9:00pm on Friday night.

Seventeen people managed to escape but the three victims, including a 61-year-old woman and 21-year-old man, were trapped inside the car which became submerged in the river.
