There's a disturbing subtext to this, that the world media is trying to ignore....

Powerful Western countries have been trying to get leaders of other countries they don't like removed. These elected leaders are overthrown by corrupt senators under the pretext of "corruption". Lula and Rousseff in Brazil, for example, and Imran Khan in Pakistan.

However, the charges against Lula have finally been thrown out by the Brazilian courts. It's important to acknowledge that Lula and Fernandez de Kircher are allies of a sort, even though one is from Brazil and the other from Argentina. They share a lot of policy ideas, such as addressing the wealth inequalities in their respective nations, and addressing the concerns of the poorer ethnic minorities. This approach is not popular with the white elites of Brazil and Argentina, and their racist supporters. Sounds familiar?

Western stooges from white racist elites tried without success to overthrow Chavez and then Maduro in Venezuela, and Evo Morales in Bolivia. They're clearly alarmed by the support Chavez-Maduro get from the Afro-Venezuelans and the rural poor, and the support Morales and Arce get from the indigenous Bolivian poor. This is as much to do with race as it is with power.

Like Lula, Fernandez de Kircher is a democratic socialist, and therefore not much liked by the US-UK axis, which has quietly condoned and supported monsters like Bolsonaro.

Chances are, this gunman is a supporter of Bolsonaro who went a step too far....

Thanks for tying this down for me, Mike. I held notions along those lines but nothing as succinct. I think you're right.
