I just think as players we back ourselves to win such games 9/10 times. He (Odean Smith) was an option and he had a good day, I went for Shepherd but it just didn't come off. Throw Dillon the ball at the death and he would throw it back

Hetty is clueless, why not bowl out Smith? Smith bowling in the death for the West Indies has grown tremendously, while Shep has gone backwards. As captain you have to go with the bowler with momentum which was Smith, but it seems Smithy got victimized again

That’s my point Narps. We really don’t know.
Very few teams bowl a spinner in the 19 and 20th overs.
Most teams go with a seamer.
That said, Hety clearly said he made a choice and it didn’t work out.
He has to be man enough to deal with it.
If Shep had come through, the lyrics might well have been Hety, by showing confidence in and support of Shep allowed Shep to perform at his best.
That’s the game.

I hear you. Shep hasn’t performed in the role for some time.
Obviously coaches think he has potential.
I know when he played a couple years ago, they appeared to be grooming him as a death bowler.
Perhaps they believe he has the right mental makeup for the role. I don’t know.
