Have to keep em wannabe warriors in the basement."
U don't have to support Sammy for that, Hethy will do that on his own. 😁🤣

Pitch and Conditions:
There's a lovely breeze bowling across the ground. It is the same surface as the morning game where 153 was enough for the Tallawahs. The grass is slightly browner and not live. There is still a bit of moisture. It might be a bit quicker. The bounce was disconcerting in the earlier game. The ground staff put the light roller in between games and hence it might play better tonight.

Shamsi to Dickwella, out Stumped!! That's called throwing your wicket away. Dickwella came one down today and he has just walked right past this away-turner after stepping out. Wanted to nudge to long-on for a run, ball spun past the bat for an easy stumping. Shamsi is having a great time. Put the brakes on the Kings.

Heinrich Klaasen | Player of the Match:
I don't see it as a perfect day of cricket. But we are glad to get over the line, first win of the season, it was a hurdle and we have managed to get it out of the way. I like to earn people's respect by doing the hard work. I struggled to hit it off the middle tonight but glad I could stick it around. We decided to get one boundary for the over and he (Hetmyer) was able to do it far more easily than me.

Hetmyer: Never felt better.
This is one of the games we did well collectively as a team. After the start they got and to restrict them to 160 was a fantastic effort. It was a mixture really. At one point it felt they would get something around 200, the spinners gave us the breakthroughs and the pacers came on carried that momentum forward.

They deserved it, no doubt. I thought people were harsh saying that he is a poor captain. He has been batting well and at the end of the day, he plays for the W.I. People have to remember that this young man led the U19 team to glory in 2016. The character he has shown after that loss is commendable.

yup..
Great character...
first thing that impressed me was his form ; it has been getting better...I still think he can do even better after these good starts...all of them just under or over 200 S.R. He sticks around and the chances of winning for his team rise instantly.
second thing- Acknowledging the pain of those hurtful losses and holding the nerve to push through.
He is on the right trajectory...
I say let him captain some more NON CWI stuff... or a Warm up match or two to see if he can handle the various personalities and scenarios before he gets to LEAD any CWI official team.
