The stadium was named after him whilst he was still playing. The occasion was the victory in the 2016 WT20, but perhaps they were only looking for an excuse.
According to Wikipedia (caveat lector), the ground has a seating capacity of 13K which can be expanded up to 20K for international matches. These numbers seem quite optimistic - has the ground ever been full?
