GAW team selection.

Jeremy 2022-09-15 05:12:57

Why they dropped Motie.

He has taken wickets in every match so far.

A wicket from him in this TKR match would have made a hugh difference.

His replacement young sinclair not ready yet. His fielding is not ready yet either.

Guyana management needs to do a better job with team selection.

Lemme help you understand why Motie was left out last night.

1.CPL teams have to play an Emerging player in at least 5 games in this tournament
2. The emerging players for the Warriors are Sinclair and Nandu
3.Nandu is not ready for this level and our batting is already poor.
4.TKR has 6 left-handers and Sinclair is an off-spinner which is a good match-up
5.Shamsi and Tahir are our two match winners so must play

I am not optimistic that the above would in any way change your blinkered views since everything that you post is affected by an incurable illness but maybe it may help others.

Give dem hell, Jeremy.

How could they have Odean in the team (bowling 2 overs and then facing only 2 deliveries at bat) while Motie has to watch the proceedings from the bench.

Sinclair 3 overs for 27 runs no wicket.

He missed fielded a few balls which resulted in one going for a boundry.

He had no positive impact on the game.

Motie usually takes a wicket or 2 and always have an impact on the game.

Either you do not understand cricket or you simply did not watch the game.

How do you know he is not ready for this level when he has not even play a game as yet.

Nandu has not dominated at Under 19 level. There are two recently Under 19 batsmen in the West Indies who have better numbers than he does and they also are not ready to perform at this level.Ackeem Auguste and Teddy Bishop have not only done better than Nandu but they have played first class cricket. One of the coaches for the Under 19 team said that Teddy Bishop is almost as talented as Shimron Hetmyer was at a comparable stage. If Teddy Bishop is not ready how can you think that Nandu is ready?

It can be quite a transition from Under 19 level and even Brevis is struggling. We have to be patient with Nandu and give him time to develop.

What made the coach said this, Hetty did not dominate like Bishop in the u19 WC or games prior to the WC. Hetty production at 2016 was 1 fifty.

Bishop at 19 seems to be ahead of Hetty in terms of talent and development.

I do not know what you mean.

I have never seen any guyanese posters here post anything with balls.

Maybe krishna back in the days and AnandGB but they do not post anymore. Or maybe they have different handles now.

The trini posters here are way better then our guyanese posters.

Amazon warriors lose the game i give my opinion on the game and players performance. Nothing racist about that.

I critisize stirling too when he fail. I critisize any player who do not perform. Lots of people pay big money to go GT to watch the matches. They need

to pick the right players and start winning.

Is my opinion that Motie was dropped unfairly. Same thing last year, warriors were 5 and 1 with Motie then they dropped him in the playoff and lose.

1.There is OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE that at a comparable stages.i.e their last year of Under 19 eligibility that Hetty is way ahead of Teddy Bishop

2.Hetty scored more than 1 fifty in 2016 and in fact also played in the World Cup in 2014.

If you tell us what Bishop has done in 2022,I will show beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hetty did more in 2016.

The problem with you guys is that you do not follow cricket closely and make statements with zero basis in fact.

Tell us all about Bishop in 2021 and 2022 and I will respond appropriately .

Bishop scored 2 centuries in 2021 and a ton in the u19 2022, Hetty scored 1 -50 in 2016 world cup. none in 2014. Hetty never scored a century in 2 years at u19.

Dukes you are all wet, Hetty did not dominate at u19 level, he was in 2 wc teams just like Brooks,Paul, Hinds, Deo, and KB as a few more.

One of the coaches for the Under 19 team said that Teddy Bishop is almost as talented as Shimron Hetmyer was at a comparable stage.

The above prompted this response

What made the coach said this, Hetty did not dominate like Bishop in the u19 WC or games prior to the WC. Hetty production at 2016 was 1 fifty.

I will now explain why the coach made those remarks about Hetmyer by showing exactly what he had accomplished before his 20th birthday and then I will make some general observations.
Hetmyer was born on December 26,1996 so his 20th birthday was December 26,2016 so all that is posted here predates this date.
Bishop will be 20 in 4 months time so still has that time left in this comparison so it is slightly premature.

5.December 2016-Guyana vs Barbados

67 off 83 balls with 9-fours and 1-six-second innings
MAN OF THE MATCH

LIST A

1.January 2015 on debut-West Indies Under 19 vs Trinidad and Tobago
50 off 60 balls

Hetmyer's first class average just prior to his 20th birthday was 37.16 after 11 matches with one century and 4 half-centuries
After 4 first class matches for Guyana he was selected to play for the West Indies A team vs Sri Lanka A.

OBSERVATIONS

We have seen this before in Guyana
3 names spring to mind
Carl Hooper,Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ronnie Sarwan.
These guys as teenagers scored first class centuries and then went on to play test cricket before age 21 and ended up with over 5000 test runs and more than 10 test centuries.
I sincerely hope that both Teddy Bishop and Shimron Hetmyer follow in their footsteps.

I think that many Guyanese and hopefully all West Indians are hoping that Hetmyer follows in the footsteps of Lloyd and Hooper in terms of the effect leadership had on their careers.

Lloyd 36 tests as non-captain 2282 runs at an average of 38.68
Lloyd 74 tests as captain 5233 runs at an average of 51.30

Hooper 80 tests as non-captain 4153 runs at an average of 33.76
Hooper 22 tests as captain 1609 runs at an average of 45.97
