Aha Trinidad B playing the warm up
Main event with Trinidad A later

Let me see how pouty will handle a rampant Rovman

Narper 2022-09-17 13:49:05

Last match Pouty put on helmet and parked himself on the pitch in front of de Rover to give chats...we know what happened then...but I expect Pouty to double up....go be Phillip and A Ho

Yay. The rain has stopped and the covers are already on their way out.

09:33 Local Time, 13:33 GMT, 19:03 IST:
Okay, bad news time. It is raining. But, but, the good part is that the sky is quite bright, and the forecast too is much better going into the afternoon. This does look like a normal small passing shower. Anyway, for now, the toss has officially been delayed.

Pitch report |
Samuel Badree and Danny Morrison: The colour of this pitch is a little different from the Queen's Park Oval. It is dry and quite firm. There will be more runs on offer here.

Narper 2022-09-17 14:17:31

Faf du Plessis:
I'm okay to bat first. It is a bit dry. Tim David is a fantastic T20 player who has done well over the last two years. Adam Hose comes in for him. Always great playing against my mate. Just one change.

Narper 2022-09-17 14:18:00

DJ Bravo:
We're going to bowl first. With the weather around it is good to bowl first in the morning games. We have had two rained out games and we can't do much about it. Coming to the business end, I expect these guys to do well. We are unchanged from the last game.

Jansen to du Plessis, out Caught by Dananjaya!! It needed something epic to get rid of Faf in this mood, and Dananjaya has pulled off just that! Faf tries getting innovative and scoops it away behind square, but then sbhort fine leg runs back, judges the skier dipping over him really well, and dives under it cleanly to pluck it out

du Plessis c Dananjaya b Jansen 41(21) [4s-5 6s-2]

DJ Bravo:
We should have used the conditions better after winning the toss, really couldn't make use of the powerplay with the ball. I will keep backing the players and will try and bring positive energy to the group. We are going through a bad patch, but it's all about staying positive, enjoying the game and let the results take care of themselves.

Narper 2022-09-17 18:24:51

Faf:
On a wicket like this, you gotta get ahead in the game as it slows down after the powerplay. It was brilliant from him (Wiese). His lengths were really good and was spot-on today. If everyone is playing their role well, makes it that much more easier for the skipper.

In reply to Halliwell

Trinidad B, Sammy would have a few choice words for you!!!!!!

Narper 2022-09-17 18:29:29

David Wiese | Player of the Match:
I thought we did well in the powerplay with the bat. It just allows us to come at the end, bash a few and push towards the competitive score. The wicket was getting slower, so it's just about using the variations. We wanted to keep it straight and not give any pace for them. It worked out well for us. You want to take a bit of momentum towards the end of the tournament
