Fiona expected to impact Atlantic Canada and eastern Quebec with heavy rainfall and powerful hurricane force winds starting early Saturday. 'This is going to be a storm for the ages,' chief meteorologist warns.
Hurricane Fiona strengthened to a powerful Category 4 storm on Wednesday as it continues to roar through the western Atlantic Ocean, headed towards Bermuda. The storm has already carved a destructive path through the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, where up to eight people might have died from the storm and most have been left without power.
After passing just to the west of Bermuda Thursday night, Fiona will approach Nova Scotia on Friday, moving across the province and into the Gulf of St. Lawrence on Saturday.

Could you imagine, that I have lived in Jamaica, Southern Caribbean and South Florida but have never experienced a hurricane, so very ironic if I experience my first hurricane in Canada

I think only the eastern Atlantic end of Canada will be affected, we should be safe. Many people have no idea that Canada is the second largest country in the world.
