Narps, hope you win this one. I have been impressed with the way GAW won the matches in Guyana. Crowd support has been fantastic.

Narper 2022-09-24 22:23:47

In reply to Windiesfan78

Man...the stands are full....but they get very quiet when things are not going well...GAW needs them to continue the support when things are not going well.
I noted when Hope was out for 60 on WED night....the ground got silent when got out ....understandably...but very little cheer as he was walking off

Narper 2022-09-24 22:34:52

Trinbago Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to field

Narper 2022-09-24 22:35:49

Kieron Pollard:
We are going to field first. We have changed pitches and the ball will come on nicely in the second innings. It's a game of cricket for us. We have all to play for. All of us as batters have not come to the party as a unit. It's a matter of pacing the game well. We have two changes for us.

Narper 2022-09-24 22:36:46

Shimron Hetmyer:
We need to execute our plans and do our best. It's just the way the guys have applied themselves. We need to enjoy ourselves. No changes in our team..

Windiesfan78 2022-09-24 22:49:16

In reply to Narper

Hopefully they will pick things up tonight. Time for your team to take revenge for the other night.

Gurbaz and C Hemraj are at the crease.

Gurbaz is on strike.

Shaaron Lewis will open the attack

0.1
Shaaron Lewis to Gurbaz, no run, short and quick on off, Gurbaz rides the bounce and defends this on to the pitch

Narper 2022-09-24 23:03:30

Gurbaz takes a review as he has been adjudged lbw!

That looks plumb
0.2
Shaaron Lewis to Gurbaz, no run, and the decision has to be reversed. Was a length ball that pitched outside leg and Gurbaz got rapped on the pads as he swung across the line. No bat involved, but the batter is safe as the ball was pitching outside leg. The review has saved the Afghanistan batter

Narper 2022-09-24 23:06:24

0.5
Shaaron Lewis to C Hemraj, no run, dropped at slip by Pooran! Was an outswinger by Shaaron Lewis and had a poke at it. Gets an outside edge that flies to the left of Pooran, and he puts it down. Shaaron Lewis looks disappointed

Narper 2022-09-24 23:07:37

0.6
Shaaron Lewis to C Hemraj, FOUR, insult to injury. Shaaron Lewis goes full and Hemraj has creamed this through cover for a boundary to end the first over. Quite an eventful start to this game

And now Hemraj who has been given out LBW - challenges the onfield decision!
1.5
Rampaul to C Hemraj, out Lbw!! We have the second review of this match, but this time it won't be overturned. The on-field decision will stay as we have three reds, and Hemraj has to make his way back to the pavilion. Was a length ball on leg and Hemraj got beaten as he tried to work this through the leg-side. Pitching in line, impact in line and it's crashing into the sticks, confirm the replays. No bat involved and Rampaul draws first blood for TKR.

Pierre settles under the skier and completes the formalities, takes a safe reverse cup catch

Yes they did, I'm backing the Royals to win it but if they don't, GAW deserve to get over the line. To be honest I would be ok with that. Seeing TKR at the foot of the table and out of the tournament is grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat like Tony's Frosted Flakes big grin.

Shakib:
Happy to contribute for the team. First two games didn't do well. Today was the night for me. Our team attitude was superb. When we got 170, everyone believed we could win. Gurbaz has been performing magnificently. The way he's applied himself has been magnificent. His innings gave a lot of confidence to us. Wasn't easy given the quality of spinners they have. The way Odean and Hetmyer finished gave us the momentum.

Hetmyer:
Fantastically well done by the boys. Don't have enough words to express how great they were. Really really proud of them
.

Pollard;
Everything (what went wrong). We deserve to be where we are in the table. Fantastic tournament. Going 10 years strong so well done to them. Have to have another tournament where youngsters get opportunities. I'm backing good cricket. Another must-win tomorrow for another team. We apologise to the TKR fans back home. These things happen in cricket.

I think Pouty was humble in defeat and seems to be in good spirits...accepted his team's poor performance in the tournament/ the whole atmosphere at Providence was one of celebration last night

Well done to Warriors. As for TKR, I think that even you know that you deserve that last place for the pretty ordinary cricket that you played for the entire series. At the end of the day, as Pollard has been hinting, this is just joke cricket and that we need a serious T20 series and set up in the Caribbean to move forward, probably based on the Stanford model at least in the first couple years where a wide pool of players could be given an opportunity. If we are to compete in international T20 cricket, we can no longer depend on the franchise players. i think that they should take over the role of mentors and eventually coaches if they are interested but should not play international T20 cricket.
