I must be seeing things..but that was not an offside .
Where is the replay ..an Oranje defender was closer to the goal line...just like
the Ronaldo penalty call.. I could be wrong but SOMETHING smells here.

Its el stupido....stupid is just stupido. Just because it sounds similar does not mean it could be a no brainer....es stupido is more a culture thing, they may not say it that way in Ecuador....also have you checked if stupian or estupian actually has its own meaning?

I think the principle was correct but badly applied here.
Makes no sense. He did not prevent the goal keeper from reacting. What is he supposed to do? Disappear? I think it was a bit harsh.

doesn't matter if it's El Stupido. There's no need to be formal in things like these. Slang use is just fine. Everyone would know what estupido means.

you are estupido hee hee hee big grin big grin

I get your point, just saying, these spanish cultures are quite different. There are terms used in Puerto Rico that is foreign to mexicans even if it uses the same root words just by adding certain gender or precursor.

Additionally, its a last name and very popular.

..that offside call was complete BS but it pales in comparison to the blatant penalty the Qatar was denied earlier. This crap spoils the game.

In reply to hotarobin

That was a mild poke that resulted in the Qatari going down....he just bodied the guy as is done at all times....you think anyone needs to cheat that team? Why would they?

Senegal sleep walked through that game and scored each time they needed.

Tons of money spent to get and stage this WC.

Money still passing out by others now it seems. I am gradually losing interest in this WC.

It's easy to outthink a man who does not think at all.....doh get me started.

Who would pay a referee to ensure Senegal prospers over the home team when the home team has the money the opportunity and the history of paying?

Man hush!

They all have an open portion to the roof....

Too bad norm not here to speak to the engineering portion of this...

Hot air rises, cold air descends.

In 2009, when Qatar placed its bid to host the men’s World Cup, many wondered how a country so hot—summer temperatures can exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit—could host a soccer tournament. To quell those concerns, Qatar built air-conditioned outdoor stadiums. This move could inspire other sporting venues to use such technology to protect the health of athletes and fans. But this is a flawed solution that is not environmentally sustainable, experts say, despite efforts to power AC systems with green energy sources.
