Following his team’s humiliating 419-run defeat to Australia in the second and final Test in Adelaide on Saturday night, West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite has lamented his team’s lack of fight.

Already trailing 1-0 in the series after going down  by 164 runs to the home side in the lop-sided first Test, at Perth the West Indies once again found themselves behind the eight-ball on Saturday night (Caribbean time).

Their bowlers proved ineffective as Australia declared their first innings at 511-7. Their bowlers then dismissed the West Indies for 214.

“It was very disappointing. The first game, we fought to day five which was a decent effort. Coming here we didn't show any fight at all," said Brathwaite who had scores of 19 and three in the match.

West Indies is not built to win. Selectors are confused and not concerned about picking the best team . I am yet to understand how selectors would dump Shai Hope, Daren Bravo and Hetmyer and replace them with Riefer, a number 8 batsman and Thomas a wicket keeper who is not a good batsman at all. They had Chase to bat at number 8 as if to suggest he is a bowling all rounder although he has the second most test centuries on the team. Then Gabriel is thrown in the wilderness for Phillips and a new boy that backfired after just 2 overs in the entire match.

I know coach Phil Simmons has officially resigned though he should have been fired but Phil alone is not enough. Desmond Haynes and the entire selection panel should also be fired as well as every member of the coaching staff. We are now moving in reverse gear and we need to start somewhere.
